1st time excellent and a lot of other times too, about 3 years ago is when we first started going there, then we moved from Newington. Last month was first time since then we have been back, so lunch special chicken fingers in plastic container not crispy very soggy and full of grease couldnt even eat them plus they tasted like old oil!!!!, then yesterday again we went i got chicken fingers asked if they put chicken fingers seperate in one of the wing n eggroll bags so that wouldnt happen, the lady quickly says 1.50 more, i said for what its a bag, she said you said seperate container! Well needless to say i signed reciept for 28.93 n somehow they charged me $2.00 more for something. My husband had chicken and broccoli combination meal and noodle soup n 2 liter soda was supposed to be 28.93 was charged 30.93. And I have the receipt to prove it. Only reason I noticed is when I went into my cc account to view transactions. Was charged extra for small container homemade duck sauce which wasn't even put in my bag if I hadn't checked also missing the sauce for my chicken fingers and 1 wonton in my small soup this is crazy. I didn't know this place changed owners IT USED TO BE EXCELLENT FOOD NOT ANYMORE, we won't be going back there! And i hope everyone checks receipts i will be contacting the BBB and filing report on this business... the lady is very rude in there too, if I knew all this stuff before we grabbed our order they would have gotten it back and I would have gone and ate at GREAT TASTE. Looks like they dont even care about their customers I dont see any feedback from them anywhere!

Honestly, one of the most unprofessional experiences I’ve had at a restaurant. My mother and I went to pick up an order, paid with some cash and planned to put the rest on a card like we’ve done before with no issue. This time, the lady at the counter immediately caught an attitude, claiming their system “can’t do that” over 50 cents.
She started waving our money in our faces and snatching the order around like we were causing a problem — when all we were doing was trying to confirm what she was saying. Turns out she was wrong the whole time, thinking we gave her a $20 when we didn’t and corrected her own mistake. No apology, no accountability, and kept the same bitter attitude.
The food wasn’t any better either. Every wing we gotten was all bruised or going bad. You’d expect better from a place residing in Newington. Disappointing all around — won’t be back. 0/10.

Absolutely adore Ming Moon. Ever since moving to Newington, we've loved their great food and fast service.
They are in a great location, have great food (and steamed pork dumplings), and cannot recommend them enough.
Their website and online ordering are also super easy to use. I've never had a problem.

Crispy Egg rolls & crab Rangoon undercooked on 2/24/25 @6:30. Fam got the stomach garbles bad. Oil not hot enough, egg roll soaked up all the oil. Rangoon cardboard & chewy. Cream cheese not cooked enough during process to bring out any crab flavor. Tasted sour.

This place was really good with the previous owners and food has just gone down hill rice as no flavor had to start asking for extra seasoning and still can’t get it right

I had chicken with broccoli and garlic sauce. I added four jumbo shrimp for $1.00 each. Service was very good. Food was really good too. Only downside was the mopping going on while I was eating so it kind of smelt like disinfectant in there.
I never leave reviews anywhere, but this one deserves one. The food was horrible and the service I received from the person at the register. She gave me an attitude as soon as I walked in, but I let it go, then she didn’t even say hi or anything she just gave me the food and charged me. I asked he for sauce because she didn’t offer and she slammed it on the counter when I asked for an additional one she did the same thing. The rice had no flavor at all and did not have any veggies in it just onions. It felt like I was eating mushy rice with no flavor. I will never go there again. The Ming Moon in Wethersfield has excellent customer service and the food is always great. I ordered from the Newington one because I work in Newington, but never again.

Ming Moon in Newington, CT 06111 is not the same restaurant it used to be since it now has new ownership. I walked in to pick up my food and the cook was literally sneezing right over the food that he prepared and put it in the container. The cashier was also coughing while she cashed me out. I ended up not taking the food because I said I didn’t feel safe eating the food since had just been prepared by the same cook who was sneezing into food. I hope this place gets new ownership soon and can clean things up. Such a sad situation ????
