The Little Cake Cafe

The place use to be good. The people use to be friendly and want to serve you as of recently I have been met with attitude from the servers and my food being delayed. I waited over an hour for my food meanwhile people who came after me had received their food. After the hour we just got up and left. This was a very poor experience especially after I had checked in with the server about half and hour in asking how much longer and they brushed me off with an attitude. I will not be back.

I will NEVER come to or support this location ever again in my life! Service was absolutely terrible, was not clean and food was absolutely disgusting! I ordered an egg white western omelette with American cheese. It came with home fries and toast and ordered a side of bacon. After a long 35 min wait the food finally came out. The omelette was still soupy and raw in the middle with about a half a pound of cheese covering it up, I took one bite and instantly felt disgusted by the raw egg white taste. The bacon was burnt and not edible. When the waiter came over and asked how everything was I let him know. He then came with the check and the meal was still on the bill. I asked him to take it off since I was not able to eat the food. He brought over the cook/ owner who proceeded to try to intimidate and discredit what I was telling him. He told me that’s how he cooks his Omelettes and that I had asked for extra crispy bacon. ( which I had not) after a few minutes of him going on in such a disgusting manor and not willing to take the food off I just agreed and said fine I’ll pay and as soon as he walked away had to leave to my car in tears bc of the way I was treated by him. I have NEVER in my life ever been treat like this by an establishment let alone from the owner of said establishment! If your looking for good quality food and service please go else where this is not the spot.

Best breakfast spot in the area! Everything is seasoned perfectly, you can tell the chefs take pride in their craft. The pancakes are delicious too! The portions are huge so you never leave hungry, and the service is wonderful! I couldn't ask for a better breakfast. This is our go to spot !

We enjoy supporting small business owners and used to LOVE little cake cafe! My daughter requested Little cake cafe for her birthday breakfast. We were greeted and then seated ourselves. We were approached 3 times by 3 different staff members to take our order and the first 2 were not polite, not welcoming. The young man was ok. We’ve been going here for a few years and have always had a great experience with both food and staff. But this time it was not so great. It was awkward that what we ordered was brought out separately, 10 minutes apart. The food was awful. My daughter didn’t get what she asked for and it was also undercooked. There was a crust on the outside of the pancakes and the inside was not cooked all the way through. All you tasted was the flavor/texture of pancake batter. The French toast used to have a sweetness to it due to the custard they dipped it into. Never had to add syrup! This time they tasted like generic french toast but they were soggy & eggy. We tried to share the French toast. But left 60% on the plate. Had to be doused in syrup and still tasted awful. She said the best part of the meal was the hot cocoa. Since changing owners, the quality of food and service has dramatically declined. Disappointed because it used to be one of our favorite places to go. The waiter was respectful & took my daughter’s meal off the bill. But we will not be returning here.

This was my first time getting food from here, we ordered quite a few things for take out to have with my family and everyone was so happy with their food. They labeled everything too so we knew who’s order was who’s and everything was great. The pancakes and omelets were so good. We ordered the steak and eggs for my dad and he was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed it. I’d definitely come back and like to eat in too. Everyone was very pleasant ? definitely recommend

Went today for the first time, by the looks of the place and the staff I thought the food was going to be horrible too but, it was not, I loved the food. I did to appreciate the staff just walking by you and barely noticing you. They didn’t even clean the bar were I sat and there were 2 guys standing on the other side talking to each other and not really doing their job, one didn’t even wanted to help the lady with glasses that asked him to help take out the trash, at the end he did it but vey annoyed. They had time to clean the place but they preferred to talk, sat down, watch TV , or just walk around ignoring that there’s people waiting at the door for someone to at least tell them there’s a wait. If I ever order again I will order takeout, it doesn’t feel good to sit there in a dirty place witnessing all of that when you’re a paying costumer.

The food was bland! I had Eggs w/ Cheddar Cheese (hardly any cheese was on them), Turkey Bacon, Home Fries (decent but lacked flavor), French Toast (Ehhhhhh) and wheat toast. The wife also had eggs (fried) with Home Fries, Toast and a Pancake that she said was good. BTW the coffee was watery gave me hotel vibes. Overall the place was nice inside when it was empty but it got packed really quickly and the tables are really close together (we left soon after). Service was ok, I won’t be coming back. The place was average but when I go out with my wife I’m not looking for average I’m looking for a great experience and tasty food prepared for my enjoyment. Not the worse but far from the best but in Connecticut it’s hard to find good places to eat Breakfast.

The menu options are good, but there is too much cheese and oil. The vegetarian quesadillas and summer omelette we had ordered were overly cheese-filled. Their coffee was passable.
