My wife and I went there on a Sunday around 10 AM. My order was correct and tasted good, but hers was completely wrong — she received something very different from what she ordered (see pictures).
We also ordered black coffee, which they usually refill at the table, but to get more we had to get up and ask. When it was time to pay, we had to go ask for the check because our waitress only came by our table once.
I don’t usually write negative reviews, but our experience was frustrating, especially on a busy Sunday with only three waitresses working. I wanted to share this so others know what to expect.

Once again there is no clarity on your bill you charge whatever you feel like it., you guys neeed an itemized invoice 🧾. Not just charge whatever you feel like it. -5 ⭐️ if I could.
this is not the first time I get this problem with this restaurant.
they overcharged you. or add you extras on the bill, they charge a different price from the menu.. I will not come back for sure. there is no place that charges you almost $40 dollars for a single breakfast..

Atmosphere was very clean. Food portion was BIG. Pancakes were out of this world, tasted very well, fluffy and made me felt like I was in heaven. It melted in our mouths
Veggie omelette was splendid.
When My wife and I were about to finish eating our meal, the owner came and asked how everything was tasting. I could sense that Angelo, the owner, sincerely cared about his customers and their satisfaction.
We ended up talking for 15 minutes. Great customer service and we highly recommended this restaurant. After we left, we felt like we were visiting our own family.
Friendly family owned business.
Outdoor tables are available but we chose to eat indoor.

Terrible. Just terrible. The beverages all taste like a chemical. The corned beef hash is allegedly homemade. I’m n my opinion I find that hard to believe. The chorizo breakfast tacos are missing chorizo and flavor. The only thing that was edible was the home fries. Don’t waste your time. Just terrible.

I had breakfast at Angelo’s and it was absolutely fantastic! The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The portions were generous without being overwhelming, and everything tasted homemade with real attention to detail. The staff was warm and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Whether you’re craving a hearty classic breakfast or something lighter, Angelo’s really delivers. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to often!

Waited a long time for our food to come out. One waiter came and told us that they forgot about us, which was shady considering we are ppl of color😒, I thought that was pretty rude. Wont be going back 🤷🏽♀️

Amazing service but the food genuinely blew us away. Angelo even came out to check on us. Lovely business with the best breakfast in the Hartford area. My boyf and I tried to go again a week later but they’re on vacation right now until end of August!!

The wait staff was not very attentive , lousy service. The food was good.
I had the breakfast quesadilla with black beans and onions. The eggs were so perfectly cooked and fluffy. It was like eating a cloud. The portions are very generous. We will be back to try some of their other items.

Wow! What a huge disappointment on how this impromptu birthday breakfast turned out to be. This is or was until today our go to place for breakfast when it was known as little Cakes. Had not been there in a couple of years and learned the name changed (same ownership) but decided to go on my birthday with family. We ordered 4 omelettes of which only 2 were actually good. The 5th meal was a kid’s meal that had a rather generous portions. However the other two omelettes were not fit for consumption. Two of the meat lovers omelets had burnt sausage and bacon and what I believe may have been the chorizo (literally carcinogen). My stomach felt gross and had zero appetite after several bites. When brought to the waitress’ attention she was very sympathetic and took the two “omelette” back to the “kitchen” and said someone would come out. Ten minutes later someone came out asked what was wrong like what are questioning. Had she not looked at the food. I felt like she was hiding from the truth. Explained to her it was burnt charcoal meats. She had no words. Nothing. No reaction. No words. No apologies. No offering to make it right. Not a word of anything remotely empathic. Very cavalier attitude exhibited by her. Expecting the meals to come off the bill that was present but neither of the unacceptable meat lovers omelette were comp’d. No attempt at basic customer service etiquette on the part of “management” was ever shown. Nothing that would try to salvage repeat business from a previous repeat customer. When the bill was question the male manager (“Angelo”?) his response was “that’s the way we make it”. So if you want gross burnt protein this is your place. As for the service that should have been a clue that this experience was going to be interesting. When “greeted” after waiting 5 minutes upon arriving the reaction was it was going to be a challenge to sit a party of 5. There was a table with a worker sitting there with room for 6 which is where they seated us after he was finished eating. We sat 10 minutes before one of our waitress attended to us. Placed the orders and 30 minutes later they were served. At one point the waitress brought a plate belonging to someone else well before we were to receive our orders. In defense of the waitress mention at the beginning of this post she was actually sympathetic. Young and well meaning and actually more reasonable than the senior staff. However at no point whatsoever where we were asked on how was everything. A standard in the industry. The bill was paid as presented in full even after it was questioned and a 18% tip for the young waitress. I now have to wonder why “little cakes” was renamed to Angelo’s. Was it because of similar experiences like ours? At one time little cakes was a recommendation. My late mother brought me there 10 years ago. Like I said it was the go to place for a good value meal. Unfortunately, Angelos will not be taking another order or benefitting from a recommendation in good conscious from me. To the management I do not expect you to respond to this post. And you shouldn’t Try to defend it you know you are in the wrong. You broke the golden rule which is the customer is always right if when they are wrong in Your mind. I will be more than happy to debate your handling of this situation in person. But you should be glad it did not take place at the time of this experience. I have more respect than that and would not enjoy embarrassing you in front of customers. Next time you should try to listen to the customer’s feedback and be more willing not to take someone’s hard earned money so easily when they are rightfully not satisfied with your product. I am not suggestion that anyone who happens to read this review not try your establishment. Who knows it may be wonderful which I hope it is. What I am voicing are my opinions expressed on facts which should be a good thing for the long term viabilty of any business. Make Little Cakes Great Again. Good luck to Angelo’s.
