I’ve been wanting to try their BBQ for a while, but yesterday was finally the day!
What really made me want to give them a try was a story I read about the owner, Wayne. A man walked up to the counter and asked Wayne if he could spare a meal. Without hesitation or asking questions, Wayne simply asked him what he wanted and gave him a meal.

Stopped by Smokes on Spokes BBQ today and witnessed something worth mentioning. While waiting in line,a gentleman quietly asked if they could spare him something to eat. Mike didn’t hesitate—he asked what he wanted, got him some food and wished him a good day.
No questions, no big production. Just a good guy doing a good thing when he probably didn’t even realize anyone noticed.

Smokes on Spokes BBQ is a restaurant that serves great BBQ. The food is absolutely delicious, with some of the best barbecue. The pulled pork is perfection, and the smoked baked beans and coleslaw are delicious. The three meat combo is excellent, with ribs that are properly smoky and pull apart without a fight. The brisket burger is outstanding and worth the stop alone. The burger, meatloaf sandwich, chili, rack of ribs, chicken wings, brisket with two sides, and corn bread waffles with corn pieces are very good. Portion sizes are generous for a great price. The owner is a great guy and an outstanding host who explains his process and has a conversation. The pit bosses check on guests more than once, and it does not feel like a script. They actually want to know how the food is landing. The outdoor seating is peaceful. The staff is very friendly. A story tells of a man who asked for a meal, and without hesitation or questions, he was given what he wanted. No questions asked, just kindness. Smokes on Spokes BBQ is worth the stop, and it comes recommended.
