CT Chowder Co.

We were traveling around the New England area looking for the best clam chowder and stopped at CT Chowder Co, and I can confidently say the CT chowder is the best clam chowder I’ve ever had. Absolute must-stop if you’re anywhere nearby.

The prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality. I ordered the spicy tuna melt for $8.50, and it was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. I would’ve happily paid $15 for it without hesitation.

Susan at the counter was wonderful. She helped us with selections, was extremely friendly, answered questions about the area, and you could tell she truly believes in the food and the restaurant. Made us feel like we are having lunch in someone’s living room.

The place has a few tables up front and is more take-out focused, but we ate in and had a fantastic lunch. If you’re looking for a cute hole-in-the-wall spot with amazing food and great people, definitely stop here. You won’t regret it.

Ok seriously this place has the best lobster everything!!! Really anything on the menu that has lobster is delicious I’m sure the others are good too but I went for the lobster. I had the bisque and the lobster grilled cheese. The bisque is rich and creamy and thick and the grilled cheese was delicious.

Only reason for 4 stars is because they were sold out of most of the menu! Because it was so dam good!!! The only chowder they had left was the CT chowder and it was fantastic. Can’t wait to get back and try the others. I’ll take pics next time I’m there.

I can't rate the atmosphere as I don't know if they have inside seating bit I can rate the food and the service.
Not enough stars for the food! Great portions without being silly. Just right Goldielocks! 😊 Quality,you can tell! Cod fish Ruben sound wrong but damn is it right! Fish tacos Omg So good! Can't say enough good things about the menu. Try it all!
The service? If something is sold out they call you and ask about substitutions. For real, call! Live human! Loved it. Great service.

I saw ad in n front of store and I ordered a large clam chowder which was cold. Very disappointed as it was my first time and was looking forward to it.,little too much salt. I visited 8/1/25 in evening.

The BBQ Shrimp wrap I had here yesterday tasted like it was made with love/put together with care. Each bite better than the next! We also had the New England and Manhattan Clam chowders which were equally fresh and savory.

We had catering services from TCC. Outstanding food, service and the communication between you and the company is outstanding . Susan is a dream to work with. We can’t recommend this catering service enough. We had a party with about 45 people. Many of our guests commented on how delicious the food was and where it was catered from . The loaded mashed potatoes, steak tips, chicken piccata, herb chicken, pasta dishes, etc. were so good! We recommend this place 💯. Thank you The Chowder Company!
