It’s rare to find a place that still holds onto that kind of nostalgia. The food was fantastic, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the whole experience just felt genuine. You can tell they take pride in what they do. If you’re looking for a fun blast-from-the-past kind of place, Nick’s is absolutely worth a visit. And shoutout to Bobby his daily TikTok jokes are awesome and just add to the whole experience!”

“I’ve heard the Olde World name get mentioned for quite a while, so my husband and I finally made it over to try their pizza. They’re definitely up there in our rankings of New Haven style apizza! Perfect char, thin crust, and all around great flavors. Both their traditional and speciality pies hit the mark for us. Even their antipasto and giant steak and cheese sub impressed us. Their sweet potato gnocchi was a perfect special for the fall and is a dish we’ll definitely be thinking about often. Modest hole-in-the-wall that’s doing it right. These guys were cranking pizzas out quickly too! An excellent spot that we will definitely come back to for quality New Haven style apizza.”

“I have been going to Aldo’s for many years and think it’s time I left a review. Service - always 10/10, can never do enough for you. Value for money - 10/10. Everything is reasonably priced and the quality is unreal. I’ve probably tried everything on the menu but today I went for the Sunday dinner. Why would you get a roast at an Italian you may wonder, well let me tell you, I am the biggest roast critique as I am pretty good at them myself, but Aldo’s roast is the reason you should get a roast at an Italian. Beef, pink and tender, Yorkshire, fluffy and crispy, mash, buttery and smooth, roasts, caramelised and fluffy, veg, seasoned to perfection, all topped off with a thick shiny gravy. Cannot wait to be back next week for another round. P.S always get the little meatballs as a starter as they are THE tastiest things in the world.”

“First time at the restaurant, the service is impeccable, all of the staff are very attentive, service was fast . Refills you don’t have to ask they have been on point , they came and asked if everything is ok . When we asked for something they didn’t take forever to bring the condiments that we asked for . I brought my 3 yr old son who has autism he was antsy one of the staff sen that I was getting frustrated she handed me a drawing pad for him (loved this ) also my Grandaughter said the bathroom smelled very nice .”

“Had state street for the first time today after a hockey game. It was super busy but they quickly got us seated nonetheless. The food was SO GOOD. Well worth the price! The siracha maple syrup is FANTASTIC.”

“It's a been a few years since I last visited, but I still think about this place from time to time. Whenever I'd visit my friend in New Haven, we'd always come here to feast on tacos and other offerings like tortas. The tacos are great value: $8 for 4 tacos for most of the selections. Best of all, they have my favorite variety of taco: tacos de lengua. Granted that the tacos de lengua come at a bit of a premium compared to the other varieties, but I'm more than willing to pay the extra $2. The taco fillings were generous and the chips + pico de gallo + salsa verde that came with each order was fresh. I wish they also gave radishes with the taco orders, but that's a minor thing. Next time I'm in New Haven, I'd be sure to come back here to have those tacos again.”

“When you first walk in restaurant the smell is a little bit discouraging. It smells like a dirty and musty rag, or dirty mop water.
The food was good but plate presentation was off. Love going here but upkeep of the restaurant needs to be taken care of. Management needs to check on presentation and making people desire to keep coming back to eat there.”

“We stopped in at about 2pm to check this place out. We ordered the pretzel, wings and 4 drafts. The pretzel was good, the wings were great, nice and crispy. The grinder was overstuffed, the beers wete cold. Our only mistake was not knowing about happy hour. We will be back.”

I highly recommend the spare ribs here. My child always says that the ribs from this restaurant are the best they’ve ever had, and I completely agree. The fried rice and noodles are also excellent—everything we’ve tried has been consistently delicious.
What really made me happy was the service. The woman who takes orders remembered me, and when I made a mistake with my online order, she called to confirm the details. That personal touch truly meant a lot to me and made the experience even better.
We’ll be returning to Korea soon, and I will truly miss this place. I always recommend it to my friends whenever I can.”

“My daughter and I came to lunch at this location. We ate inside. I love the environment. It reminds me of old-school cozy Arby’s. We chose to sit in the wicker armchairs in the middle of the restaurant.

“The food is always on point. The service at the bar, where we prefer to eat, is always top notch. Lani is an awesome server and we love to see her when she is behind the bar. The others are also very good. All of their Mexican dishes are great. My favorites is the Puerco Adovado and the Camarones de Ajon. Their Idaho Potatoes are also awesome for a shareable app or for a meal. We really love spending meal time at Torito. Muchas Gracias!”
