“My family and I love this place we just wish there was more consistency with opening hours times even on the days that they are open at 1:45 you will drive up to the window and they will say they are closed. I honestly just see way too young unsupervised staffing with little or no consideration for business. I gave this business 5 stars only because of the food and I understand how reviews hurts businesses but if I would rate it overall it would not have been 5 stars bc it’s very frustrating keeping up with when they are open when the drive thru is closed when they are out of bagels it’s a hit and miss.“

“I ordered a few trays of cookies for a party I was hosting. I called, a little flustered because I was feeling very last minute. I explained how many people I was hosting and that I didn’t know what or how many to order. They were unbelievably patient with me and told me they would take care of it. And did they ever!!!! Freshly baked, beautifully presented, and SO DELICIOUS! I was thrilled. Guests impressed. Delightful variety. I will be back and I highly recommend you check them out!!!“

“If you are driving the Merritt Parkway, this restaurant is a three minute drive just west of the tunnel at New Haven. A Borek is a sort of pizza popular across the Middle East and Israel with a fabulous layered thin crust with cheese or potato. Wow. This is way better than a pizza. They have a simple little seating area and will bring you warm Borek, three sauces and really really good coffee in a box so you can take the rest with You. Fun fact. Google and the rest of the large language models can *never*spell Borek. I have to correct the spelling every time.“

“My husband surprised me with a Princess cake. I mentioned I’d love to try one after seeing it in a baking show. He searched online and Marjolaine’s was the only place he could find. He drove over an hour to pick it up and it was well worth the drive! We just picked up a Dacquoise. This one was a request from our daughter. We tried a smaller version that was in the case. It was absolutely delicious! So light and airy and the flavor was divine! We are driving this cake all the way to NC and are 100% certain that our daughter will be thrilled ! We are heading back in the beginning of April for a Marjolaine for our daughter in law. It is well worth the trip!!!“

“We ordered two cakes from Sweets on Main to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. Not only was the owner so nice, pick up was a breeze and the cakes were delicious. No pic of the GF chocolate cake but there was not a piece leftover. The strawberry mascarpone was light and refreshing - perfect for our one year old who we don’t want having a lot of sugar. “I would like to share my recent experience at Saray Bakery. A couple of days ago I placed my order over the phone and went to pick up on Thursday. There was a mistake with my order and it wasn’t ready. The employees seemed very apoplectic and told me to please give them 15 minutes and they will fix it. Even tho I was really in a rush i decided to wait. The ladies at the counter were so hospitable that you couldn’t be mad at them. The offered me a free coffee and 2 cookies. One lady came over to apologize again and explained the situation while the other lady worked on my order. They make my order quickly and put in another free pastry to go. That was so nice! At the end it’s not the mistake that matters it’s how they handled it and how they made me feel! Thank you lovely ladies at Saray Bakery I will be back :)“

“We were in the area and looked for a bakery. I am so glad we found this hidden treasure. The owner is a rare gem. I said it was the first time and he treated us to a special bread and delicious buns with butter. Opens Fridays and Saturdays and has soup as well. I will definitely return here.“

“So I went over a friends house for dinner and he had a Lupi's Bread on the table, Looked great. Tasted better. He told me about this little bakery in New Haven at 169 Washington Ave Lupi's Marchigiano Bakery. I went the next day for another Bread where I met Larry Lupi a true gentleman. His grandfather started the Bakery in 1900 when he came over from Italy, and now is being run by Larry and his brother Peter. So If you want to taste a little piece of heaven, stop by Lupi's and for a few bucks you can.

The drive here is down congested narrow roads with limited space for your turns. Stay alert a lot of low 12 ft bridges surrounding the customer. Follow trucker GPS but don’t rely on it. When you see the customer, You can make a right at the light or go up to the next street and make a right and another right and follow that path around to the yard, whichever’s is easier. Once on the yard, a lot of space to dock. Easy check in. Quick loading. Extremely professional staff.

Leaving the facility you will encounter the same congested narrow streets on your way out. Follow the path the customer gate tells you. You should make a left shortly after going around the curve. To get back to the interstate, make a right at the stop sign and follow that street down maybe 1/2 mile than make another left at the light. Follow that street all the way down and when you see the grocery store on the right, make a left at the light. You will see a sign that tells you which way to get back to the interstate. The last turn to get to the interstate can be tricky. You will come into a light that has strange look 4 way stop and signs that point to the interstate (can be misleading) but Dont go into the neighbourhood that the GPS will try and advise you to go down. Make a wide left turn on the street and you will see the entrance to the interstate maybe 1/4 of mile on the right hand side.

Tandems all the way forward or you will not be able to make your turns.

“Elizabeth's Bakery now has some GF items. Today I tried their GF blueberry muffin & brownie. The muffin is amazing! It didn't taste GF at all. Lots of blueberries, not overly sweet like some GF baked goods; great texture -not gummy at all; and a wonderfully big muffin like it's gluten containing counterpart. The brownie is soooo fudge! It is not gummy at all. Tastes just like a gluten containing brownie (well at least what I remember them tasting like). These are so much better than any GF brownie mix & better than any recipe I have made at home. It's been years since I have been able to purchase a great tasting GF item at a bakery.
