“This place is great! It had the "mom and pop" vibes that makes you know a bakery is going to be good. Service was good. Greeted immediately when I came in and she had good recommendations for what to buy to get myself to the credit card minimum. I was in and out in under three minutes. The food here is INCREDIBLE. I had a crumb cake and it was perfect in every way. My sister had a cannoli and said it was the best she's ever had. I felt that the brownies were too thin and dry, but the flavor profile was good.“
“Filipek's is the only kielbasa my mother would buy for her special Easter dinner. She grew up with it and passed the tradition down, and she would take my kids there to help her when she got older. Now I'm bringing them for our Easter kielbasa and hoping to pass the tradition on to them. These small shops are very special and we need to continue to support them. The same recipe for 118 years! “So we happen to be in Meriden today and stopped by this bakery. But it is more than a bakery we wound up picking up some delicious roasted chicken, some fried pork rinds and a donut for my wife everything we had was reasonably priced and delicious. A lucky but very nice find.“

“Rocco's is a wonderful and friendly local bakery located In South Meriden CT. The prices are reasonable. Cash only (ATM machine inside). They carry pies, cookies, pastries, cakes, breads, etc. The service is great- Dorothy is super friendly. This is a grab and go place. There is no area to sit down with your treats and eat. The chocolate lemon pie is a favorite. They sell individual pieces of almond, tiramisu, etc. Everything we've purchased has been delicious. This is the only specialty bakery in the area. Highly recommend!“
