My mother and I are fairly accomplished cooks and bakers so are very aware of quality……..we do not eat grocery store pastries….they may be convenient and less expensive but are very poor quality……Kamla makes everything by hand with top quality ingredients the morning that they are sold…..basically, you get what you pay for!!!!!! Top quality ingredients are expensive! You can order online the day before to make sure that you are able to get what you want, they often sell out early. If you want discount store prices, then go to the discount store……Bounom products are EXCEPTIONAL and very much worth the price!!!!! In addition the staff are extremely friendly and helpful!!!! “Tried the frozen Mac n cheese and it was absolutely delish! My son who is very picky had three helpings. Probably the best we’ve had. We miss the seafood newburg. Surprisingly the interior gives no clues as to the royal delights offered….This must be central CT’s best kept secret!. If you let appearances deceive, you are the loser. We tried just a few items: alfajores cookies, guava stuffed into turnover pastry, butterfly-wings(…sometimes called elephant ears), and beef empanadas…with cappuccino expertly made -foam design and all! As we were on our way out, a gentleman entering told us not to miss the delectable rolls!
We were so excited choosing items to try, that we forgot to add the Dulce de Leche & French crème coronet horns!!! We will return there tomorrow morning at 8am to get all we missed today! Buen provecho! Bon apetit!

“I have been to a few HBC locations, but this one is the most disappointing. Their food is still great, though. I LOVE their alt-B, but this location gave me about 1/2 of what I get at the other locations - my sister also was disappointed with hers. Their tortilla soup was very bland (I couldn't finish more than two spoonfuls).
Their bread and pastries are just as good as the other locations. Their staff members are fantastic and they have a lot of seating!

Vegetarian options: They have a lot of vegetarian sandwich options, sometimes they will have a vegetarian friendly soup.

Parking: There are about 8 parking spots right on Route 4 that are extremely difficult to get into and out of. There is another small parking lot behind the cafe that I recommend using.“

“Came in looking for a cake they had some ready to purchase and take it was a very pretty cake I assumed it was a vanilla cake because it was filled with Bavarian cream but it ended up being and almond cake instead the cake was still fantastic and luckily no one eating the cake had any nut allergies. “Costco: how do I love thee? Let me count the ways (just for the bakery). At Thanksgiving they have great pumpkin pies for a truly miniscule price you get a humongous pit! They have bluberry muffins (and other kinds too but we get bluberry only) that are double the size of anyone else anywhere and they are loaded with blueberries and they are like half the price of anywhere else. They have great baguette bread. They now make what they call frenchcountry loaf which to us more closely resembles Italian style crusty bread which we love. For birthdays and special occasions they custom make cakes. They have all types of pastries and cheese cakes and you will love it!“
