My mother and I are fairly accomplished cooks and bakers so are very aware of quality……..we do not eat grocery store pastries….they may be convenient and less expensive but are very poor quality……Kamla makes everything by hand with top quality ingredients the morning that they are sold…..basically, you get what you pay for!!!!!! Top quality ingredients are expensive! You can order online the day before to make sure that you are able to get what you want, they often sell out early. If you want discount store prices, then go to the discount store……Bounom products are EXCEPTIONAL and very much worth the price!!!!! In addition the staff are extremely friendly and helpful!!!! My NUMBER ONE RECOMMENDATION for a bakery !!!! Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to their wonderful goodies!!! I would give them 10 stars if I were able!!!“

“Hello All. I was on a mission. My wife had a taste for a pound cake, but not just any pound cake. She wanted a pound cake that tasted like her mom used to make. Well, it took some time to scan the internet and read some of the comments at other bakeries and I found myself very disappointed. As I was about to give up, I found Perfect Poundcakes. I read the comments from their customers and I thought I would give them a try. I placed my order online. When I picked up my poundcake I was greeted by a friendly staff that took extreme pride in their product. “AMAZING. I saw a cake BBC made for a friend’s party, and it was so incredible and so delicious that I ordered the cake for my husband’s toga-themed birthday party from here. When the owner asked what I wanted, I told her to use her own creation, and I’m so glad I did. The cake was a true masterpiece with fig leaves, columns, frosting made to look like stone, and she even put his name on a plaque. It was a feast for the eyes, and all of our guests oohed and ahhed when they saw it. And it was DELICIOUS. I never saw a cake get devoured so quickly. There wasn’t a crumb left. This was my first time ordering a custom cake, and she was so patient and informative, guiding me every step of the way and making me feel completely at ease. I had created an inspiration image using ChatGPT and asked if she could make a cake that looked similar. “I had my first Amazing Ackee experience years ago at the Ellington Farmer’s Market, and I’m still enjoying alllll their offerings today. What can I say about all the great food?? Well, I’ve never not liked anything, and I thoroughly enjoy anything I’ve eaten. I love to stock up on the patties especially. “(Note: This review is for the Albany Ave. location) This won't be a popular review. For decades my family would frequent Scott's Bakery. We loved everything that they offered (hardo bread, beef patty, coco bread, plantain tart and so on). When I said we liked EVERYTHING, I mean it. Everything was on point!! Yesterday was my first time (and last time) going into Scott's in about a decade plus. It is clear that management has changed (if not management, something has gone horribly wrong). The shell of the patty was beyond thick and there was little meat in it. The coco bread was beyond disgusting! It was a flavorless clump of undercooked dough. You know how coco bread is supposed to taste. It didn't taste like that at all. It seems as though they've cut corners on their peanut punch which had a gell-like texture. The BEST part of everything that I purchased was the Cola Champagne. As long as they continue to use the same distributor they can't mess that up. Maybe they had a bad day. I won't be spending money to find out.“

“I ordered a pull apart bridal cupcake dress and cookies for my daughter’s bridal shower. The cupcakes were made in 4 different flavors that were moist, a good size, and delicious! Some cupcakes were decorated as blue flowers to surround the dress. It was a beautiful presentation. The cookies shaped and decorated as a bridal dress, an engagement ring and a Miss to Mrs plaque were the best! I recommend this bakery for any of your sweet desires. The staff was very easy to work with.“

“With the move just down the street, Beanz and Co & The NE pasta co transformed itself to another level. The place is spacious and the atmosphere is friendly and inviting. In addition to the main dining area, There are three separate seating areas: a room with comfy seats for a small group of talkers, a back room for a quieter setting and a third room perfect for a work meeting or small group of friends or couples.

I am penalizing them 1 star because they use bromated flour (potassium bromate), although as an occasional treat, I think it's probably fine.“

It took us a few minutes to figure out how everything worked because no one came out to explain the process. There were several workers behind the counter, so I’d definitely recommend checking on first-time customers to see if they need help.

My son loved the cream-filled donut, and the fruit tart I had was AMAZING! 🍓🥧 It may honestly be the best fruit tart I’ve ever had and it’s my favorite dessert! ❤️

We tried a few other items labeled as popular, but those weren’t really our favorites. Overall, though, we’ll definitely be back for that fruit tart, other desserts and to try their drinks next time!
