“We ordered two cakes from Sweets on Main to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. Not only was the owner so nice, pick up was a breeze and the cakes were delicious. No pic of the GF chocolate cake but there was not a piece leftover. The strawberry mascarpone was light and refreshing - perfect for our one year old who we don’t want having a lot of sugar. Will definitely be using Sweets on Main again!“

“A favorite spot for early morning coffee and. Friendly and efficient staff. Wonderful breads, pastries, muffins. Little quiches are just great. Have oatmeal and yogurt with fruit etc. Hot egg meals and sandwiches. Impressive espresso machine. Our little group meets regularly there. We try other places now and then but always return to the favorite.
Branford is very fortunate to have such a spot.“

“My husband surprised me with a Princess cake. I mentioned I’d love to try one after seeing it in a baking show. He searched online and Marjolaine’s was the only place he could find. He drove over an hour to pick it up and it was well worth the drive! We just picked up a Dacquoise. This one was a request from our daughter. We tried a smaller version that was in the case. It was absolutely delicious! So light and airy and the flavor was divine! We are driving this cake all the way to NC and are 100% certain that our daughter will be thrilled ! We are heading back in the beginning of April for a Marjolaine for our daughter in law. It is well worth the trip!!!“

One morning I decided to stop in, and I've been visiting them almost every week ever since. Cookies, brownies, hamantaschen, cakes, bars--all equally delicious and taste authentically homemade. “We hired JCakes to provide the cake for our wedding, which took place on June 20, 2026. Carly was the staff member who arranged a cake tasting for us and went over all the details for cake decorations. She really took the time to confirm what our vision was for decor overall and what we wanted for the wedding cake in particular. Shortly before the wedding, we updated the guest count and number of servings for the cake, which turned out to be much different than initially anticipated, and adjustments were made to our satisfaction. Our wedding reception venue ended up covering the cost of the cake as part of the banquet package (we were not aware of this detail when we booked them) and JCakes contacted us to refund our deposit. The cake was both beautiful and delectable, and we were very pleased with the service. Highly recommended.“

We ordered a wineberry tart, ube basque cheesecake, a yuzu blueberry pavolova, and some other things. It's a bit pricey, so it feels like a worthwhile treat to me. I don't get to experience a proper basque cheescake hardly ever and this one was fabulous. Another standout was the pavlova. I love the cruch of the meringue, with the tartness of yuzu balancing out the sweetness of the blueberry compote. Highly recommend.“

Enjoy Authentic Guatemalan tamales, reminds me of when my grandmother made them, the chuchitos, they are like mini corn tamales and great with coffee too. “These are the best Biscotti I ever had. I found them near the coffee section at Bishops Farm Maket. They are soft and not dried out. They are as good as my grandmother's..if not better. If I take a small bite I end up eating the entire Biscotti. A+“

“So I went over a friends house for dinner and he had a Lupi's Bread on the table, Looked great. Tasted better. He told me about this little bakery in New Haven at 169 Washington Ave Lupi's Marchigiano Bakery. I went the next day for another Bread where I met Larry Lupi a true gentleman. His grandfather started the Bakery in 1900 when he came over from Italy, and now is being run by Larry and his brother Peter. So If you want to taste a little piece of heaven, stop by Lupi's and for a few bucks you can.

“This was the most recent restaurant opens in town and it is very good, the food is freshly baked and extremely cheap, one pàn costed me $1.50, the food was amazing but the atmosphere is not ready yet snd they are still building the restaurant atmosphere.“

“Ricotta's catering service is wonderful! We are from out of state and were organizing a Shiva lunch for family living near New Haven. Given that we only had a day to plan, time was very tight and we didn't know where to turn. Luckily, Ricotta's was recommended. Sarah was great - she was flexible, willing to deliver, arranged the food beautifully, and everything was delicious. Guests, in particular, loved the sushi, the pita sandwiches and the pastries. When visiting, we can't wait to eat at the restaurant and to hopefully use the catering service for a happier event. We highly recommend them!“

My husband loved the taste and kept mentioning it when it got closer to his birthday this year so I, of course, had to get another one. It was AMAZING!
