“Stopped in for my first visit today and ordered a burrito bowl with shredded pork, fajita veggies, white rice, black beans, and a few extras. The bacon bits were perfect -- extra crispy, exactly how I like them. My only complaint is I wish there had been a bit more rice. The staff was super helpful, and I even got a discount for signing up for their app, which was a nice bonus. Solid first experience overall. Took my meal to go but the dining area looked really clean like a great place to eat in.“

“It's a been a few years since I last visited, but I still think about this place from time to time. Whenever I'd visit my friend in New Haven, we'd always come here to feast on tacos and other offerings like tortas. The tacos are great value: $8 for 4 tacos for most of the selections. Best of all, they have my favorite variety of taco: tacos de lengua. Granted that the tacos de lengua come at a bit of a premium compared to the other varieties, but I'm more than willing to pay the extra $2. The taco fillings were generous and the chips + pico de gallo + salsa verde that came with each order was fresh. I wish they also gave radishes with the taco orders, but that's a minor thing. Next time I'm in New Haven, I'd be sure to come back here to have those tacos again.“

“Visited in December 2025. Torito Mexican Restaurant in New Haven is a fantastic spot for flavorful food, great drinks, and warm, attentive service. The menu is extensive, offering a wide variety of Mexican dishes with non-vegetarian and vegetarian options. The restaurant is spacious, with ample seating and comfortable booths, creating a relaxed and welcoming dining atmosphere. An added bonus is the nearby EVGo charging station, which makes Torito an especially convenient stop for a delicious meal while your car charges.“

“First time at this restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised. Staff were very friendly. Many options to choose from. I ordered Alambre. It was a skillet meal with steak, peppers and onions smothered in cheese, served with rice and beans. With it came five mini tortillas. This meal was very flavorful and filling. Also ordered was a burrito filled with steak, rice, beans, pico de gallo and cheese. Prices are very reasonable, atmosphere is good and the service was excellent.“

“The food was delicious. From the guacamole to the Mole. The guacamole was creamy not salty. The mole had a nice little kick to it. However you can choose your spice level. The rice and beans were delicious. The beans are by far one of the better Mexican refried beans we have eaten. We have been to most of the Mexican restaurants in the area from Stratford to New Haven. The Agua de horchata according to my daughter is one of the best she ever had. We will be back again.“

“My husband and I took a chance and tried this place. We were immediately greeted and felt welcome. It is clean.
We were served refried beans with cheese with tortilla chips. So yummy! Our dinner was made quickly and it was great.
We ordered steak quesadilla and a chicken burrito.
We were asked if we wanted more refined beans and tortillas, I asked for some to go. It was placed in a foil container to make it simple to reheat and serve.
It’s the smaller places that are the best. Highly recommend!“

“Loved this place! The restaurant was clean and colorful. The staff were friendly. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced, especially for how good and fresh it was. They brought us warm tortilla chips with yummy salsa to start. I got tacos with carne asada, pollo, and al pastor pork. All were great and came on delicious homemade corn tortillas. My boyfriend got the best burrito he’s ever had. We’ll definitely be going back!“

“This is my first time trying Columbian food and I am hooked!!!!! The AL Pastor Columbian style Arepas is by far one of the most delicious things I have had in a long time. The cornbread base was sweet without being cloying and mixed with the pork and pineapple, OH MY GOD! My dish came with a side of some of the most flavorful rice I have ever had and it was topped with some sweet plantains. The serving is more than generous. I'm a big girl and I am easily getting 2 meals out of my order. The prices are very reasonable! Do yourself a favor and find this hidden gem while you are in town. You will not be disappointed!“

“I'm originally from Texas and I was raised on food this good and well prepared, but usually you had to be invited to a Sunday cookout with your buddy and their 50 closest relatives for this level. The service is great, the food comes out quick and fresh, the flavors are top notch and very authentic for South Texas/ Northern Mexico. We've been twice and we're excited that we've found actual Mexican cuisine up here. Who would have thought Wallingford would have such a gem! Wallingford is for Foodies I'm quickly finding out.“

Flavor is on point and this is our go to Mexican food spot. We have tried other local town Mex and not as good as Orale.“

Very good decision! I can't remember what it's called but it included chicken. Steak, and shrimp with bell peppers and onions, rice, beans, tortilla, and I asked for avocado on the side. It also came with a green pureed salsa sauce.
