“Got a small Dave + hot oil, as well as a Tomato Pistachio Pesto. Both were delicious, and I could have eaten the Dave all in one go if I didn’t get two pies. Clean and well decorated place with attentive and quick service. Absolutely worth a visit!”
“We reserved tables for a 40th birthday party of 25 guests and everyone had a great time! Taylor our bartender was wonderful and attentive and the owner is very nice as well. We will definitely be back and recommend this brewery!!”
“Rosabianca is a hidden treasure of Connecticut. We just traveled to the area to celebrate my soon-to-be sister’s bachelorette party. After a poor experience at different vineyard, my group stumbled upon Rosabianca. The aesthetics, service, and atmosphere were beyond words. If anyone is in the area, this family owned and run vineyard is a must stop. Lisa was wonderful in helping us select our tastings and recommending places to order some food. Although we had just met, it felt as if we knew her for years. I will definitely plan to visit again once the warmer weather comes.”
“I have been eyeing this bakery ever since I moved to Durham a couple years ago and frequently pass by it. This staff was friendly and we chatted about their origins and their tasty treats. They have a friendly family atmosphere . I bought a bunch of cookies to enjoy. They also will do cakes to order .”
“I have to say, Honey Pie Bakery makes some outstanding baked goods! Their cinnamon buns are some of the best I’ve ever had: strong cinnamon flavor, plenty of cream cheese frosting, perfect pastry. I’ve now also had something that looked like a mushroom danish or croissant? Buttery dough, maybe just slightly sweet, with mushrooms on top... OMG! Amazing! Definitely will be buying from them again!”
“I have eaten here about 6 times in the last month. For a take out restaurant, the food is fresh and good. The quality was consistent in my experience. Definitely one of the better Chinese take outs I have bought from.Parking: plenty of parking”
“Stopped by looking for a snack and man did Amanda deliver. I got the chicken bacon ranch on a grinder and a side of pasta salad. This is honestly one of the best CBR I’ve had.The chicken is super moist, coupled with heaps of crispy smoked bacon, which you can really taste. The ranch gives a creamy base layer that ties in the thick cuts of lettuce and tomatoes. This is all gift wrapped in a layer of cheddar cheese. The bread was crispy and held the insides of this sub together, without leaking through.I’ll be back to try the whole rest of the menu, you should too!”
“We found a local ? gem last Wednesday! We were driving by and decided to stop at Giovanni's. We ordered a large 18" pizza with precooked bacon, black olives, mushrooms & onions. Thin and DELICIOUS.?The waitress was awesome, very attentive, and efficient. We will go back and thank you! ?”
“I visited this subway and had a wonderful experience! The staff was friendly, and my sandwich was deliciously fresh. I highly recommend stopping by for a tasty meal!”
“I am not getting all of these negative reviews!!! We go every day! The employees are so awesome and nice. My order is ALWAYS correct. If I could have one complaint, why are they not allowed tips? All of the other Dunkin Donuts allow it.....these poor employees have to deal with upscale snobby people, they should be treated and respected....let them earn their deserved tips!”
“As a pizza artist for more than 25 years, this was a dream come true to finally try the famous New Haven Pizza. And it did not disappoint. Waited about an hour for a table, but the service was amazing, the atmosphere was super relaxed, the food unbelievable, oh, and William from the kitchen was GREAT! You'll see why ????”
“I feel like a lot of people don’t know that there really is an embarrassment of riches of restaurants in New Haven County. If you love good food all you have to do is look around here. Dad is the one who made the reservation at Fair Haven Oyster Club (I’m pretty sure you must make a reservation, the spot is small and if the weather is bad the only seating is the bar and a row of two tops behind the bar). I looked up the menu and it looked pretty SPECTACULAR. Reminder: I don’t eat beef, pork or poultry. Lots of times my choices are somewhat limited when we dine out, not at Fair Haven. WOW. Now, if you don’t eat seafood I’m pretty sure you’re out of luck. I don’t think there was anything vegetarian, let alone vegan. Note: Dad reserved “in the bar” on Resy. Turns out that is stools AT the bar. “Dining room” is the two tops that are right behind the bar. So choose wisely. Outdoor seating I think is weather dependent and we got the most spectacular evening last night. We arrived very early for our reservation because we were out and about anyway and it worked out because they sat us out on the deck overlooking the water and the boats. Hands Down now of the very best settings I have ever dined in (and I have dined all over this country and world). Weather was perfection, beautiful blue sky, big, fluffy clouds;s tide was going out, water was crystal clear; across the Quinnipiac River you could see old homes and an old church; off in the distance I could see the cars and trucks on 91. I LOVED THAT. I was a little worried when they gave us tiny water glasses. I drink water. Plenty of it. But they kept those little glasses full. Which is no mean feat when the place just got progressively busier and also, keeping water glasses filled is a common “weak point” when I eat out. The service here was ON POINT. While Dad was griping about the QR code menu I ordered a Hendrick’s and Tonic. Just because they looked like their cocktail game was strong. FYI, most places make terrible, undrinkable gin and tonics. Not Fair Haven Oyster Club! They served me the perfect G&T, even in the correct highball glass (!!) with super fizzy tonic water (!!!). That G&T set the tone for the rest of the meal…knocked directly out of the park. The menu is broken into Raw (they have an impressive oyster selection and caviar service, if that’s your thing), soups and salads, small plates and large plates. My plan was to eat my way through salads and small plates. I did order Scallop Crudo (olive oil, lemon, salt, herbs) and Tuna Crudo (over foie gras mousse on a brioche cracker) for the table. But then I ate them… Dad ordered Gildas to share (tiny skewers of anchovies, piparra peppers, castelvetrano olives & Mahon cheese). Super fun bar type snack. Things I ate: Fair Haven Clam Chowder. Which really tasted like a very good escarole (it was actually kelp) soup with clams. Baby Butter Lettuces (w/fried oysters, green goddess, bonito). This is EVERYTHING a salad should be. Delicious, filling, fresh, UMAMI. The fried oysters make it a legit meal. Heirloom Tomatoes (w/bottarga): beautiful, delicious tomatoes served in the most Umami-forward way possible. Uni Toast (w/ white shoyu, sesame & chive). I eat A LOT of Uni. Because I eat A LOT of Omakase and Kaiseki in NYC. So, for me? There are better ways to savor Uni. But, again! UMAMI BOMB. And I am always here for the Umami. Mom and Dad ordered the Grilled Black Cod (over cucumber & snap pea salad w/ kelp ponzu & shiso). SNAPS to them for stretching outside their culinary comfort zones after I explained o them that Black Cod is one of the most delicious fish out there and ponzu us right up their alley! This dish is just glorious: Perfectly grilled fish adrift in a sea of incredibly fresh and delicious vegetables. The snap of those snap peas was perfection. For dessert we ordered Vanilla Bean Cheesecake with honey fennel pollen & wild fennel. I. LOVE. Fennel and will eat it in any form. This really did not taste of fennel. But! This was one of the best cheesecakes I’ve ever h”
“Had to rub my eyes to make sure that I was in New Haven because this restaurant stepped right out of Manhattan. Each dish we enjoyed was recommended by our sever as was the fabulous wine too. The chef introduced himself before seating and checked with us just as our larger plate arrived. He added very much to the overall ambiance.”
“This place make you feel like you’re eating in front of Lungomare Mergellina in NAPLES, Italy. Absolutely fantastic pizza, pasta and everything you see on the menu. If you’re familiar with a real and authentic pizza this is the right place for you, won’t find a place like this in the whole state of CT. Food is fresh, pizza is not greasy like every other place you go and your stomach doesn’t feel heavy after eating here. You smell authentic as soon as you walk in. Great job and thank you for having a place like this in CT.”
“Spectacular restaurant. Pricey but worth it. The black cod is as good as advertised. Had a ceviche special that was very good. The kale and octopus was solid. Will be back.”
“Phenomenal food on its way to a Michelin star. Very expensive, but worth every penny if you're looking for quality Japanese food. All the staff are Japanese themselves or have lived in Japan at one point, making all the food truly Japanese inspired.Shout out to Charles! Super cool guy and added a lot to the experience.”
“I came from Virginia to visit my sister and kept hearing about it and wanted to try it. The Fresh Tomatoes Pizza was excellent! The staff was very friendly. Loved it!!”
“Rare find! From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel welcomed. From the food to the amazing staff, it was all delicious and well made. The martini, mojito, and Shirley temple were all flavorful. We loved the chicken wings. My boys couldn't get enough of the fries. It was all topped off with three amazing desserts. We will be back!”
“Olea, is a top tier restaurant, creative and exciting yet grounded in the Spanish way. The drinks were very good I had the signature Manhattan. For appetizer the ceviche mixto was amazing, originally thrown off my the red sauce but WOW it was such a compliment to the lemon and seafood. My main meal was the fish of the day (Black Sea bass) and it was cooked to perfection and placed on butter beans and a mild yet appealing salsa verde. Food was on par for a great restaurant in any major city. We are so happy to have one of this caliber so close to home.”
“The staff is incredibly friendly, upbeat, and helpful. Above all, the bagels and shmears are nonpareil!!! The best anywhere. I’m sad that I don’t live in New Haven anymore.Vegetarian options: I think the majority of spreads are vegetarian”
“Extraordinary place: healthy fresh ingredients, various options, big portions, great environment and people! I’m beyond happy and grateful to have discovered this place (I work in the area and this is my to-go place for lunch take out - ordering is extremely easy through the website). Thank you for the amazing things you are doing!”
“I live outside of DC and go to a number of Michelin star restaurants… I will flatly say I have had meals that equalled Union League but never one that exceeded it. Couple in their very reasonable pricing, gorgeous building, great staff and this place is extraordinary. I will be visiting my sister in Milford more often in the future :-)!”
“I love that they have a small menu but that it's constantly changing. I've gone already five times and each time, I have not been disappointed. Every item you order is unique and flavorful. The chef must be brilliant.”
“Outstanding place for high quality Italian. The staff is really fantastic and makes every effort to ensure you have an experience that keeps you coming back time and time again. Great Martinis and there's a reason everyone says get the pasta!Parking: Valet unless you can find something on the street.”
“I've been meaning to check this place out as it's right down the street from our house. I didn't have high expectations but I was pleasantly surprised! We tried a few cocktails, a couple of the specials and 2 apps off their regular menu. Generous portions, fresh ingredients, layered flavors... honestly so impressed. And friendly service. We will be back!”
“We love it here- the staff/owners/chefs are so friendly and passionate about the place and it shows. We love that it’s different from the other options on Wooster street while still feeling right at home in the Italian neighborhood- handmade pastas, wood fired options, and don’t get me started on the desserts and cocktails (amazing- and love that they have NA options as well) beautiful ambiance, we can’t wait for the rooftop to open! Definitely our new date night spot.Vegetarian options: Stuffed acorn squash was great as well as pasta selections!”
“Maybe off the beaten path and a no frills location but TOP NOTCH BBQ. First time trying Roysters but will not be our last. Some of the best BBQ I have had in CT. We tried nearly every meat and side available (Brisket, Pulled Pork, Beef Ribs, Pork Ribs, and Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage plus both cornbreads, smoked mushrooms, baked beans mac n cheese and coleslaw). Every bite was fantastic! Excellent smoke rings and nice bark, great spice to the BBQ sauce. You gotta give it try if in the area. Keep it up Brian, it was nice meeting you Sat. We will see you soon!”
“We just found this place....there are a lot of Peruvian restaurants in CT....not a lot of good ones. I'm born and raised in Peru. If you don't know Peruvian food....go to this little out of the way gem of an eatery.”
“Love Italian pastry and don't have any good Italian bakeries near me. Arrived at 4pm and still had plenty to choose from. Spent $60 on 12 pieces of pastry and a bag of cookies. My husband and I enjoyed every piece. Will definitely go again when in the area.Parking: Parking in rear and there's a back entrance.”
“Like eating Italian-American dreams...Parking: PLENTY of parking in front of store.Kid-friendliness: Small "mom & pop's" feel.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access for everyone”
