This was an absolutely terrific sitting of the most amazing food that I have ever had. That girl working there was...I think her name was Rachel... was amazing. Seriously, she was so nice and attended me accordingly. If I could give her a raise I would. She attended me like I was Jesus at the last supper...which isn’t that far from the truth. Anyway, I could write a bible on this stuff. If your thinking about eating please know that it’s somehing you must do before you die. Basically it’s the 8th wonder of the world.
Ordered food and the person working there didn't know how to ring up the items we ordered. She went to get manager and after waiting a long time he came out and said we had to wait cuz he was busy. He was extremely rude and very unprofessional. We walked out and will not return. Also spreading the word to people we know so they don't get treated like we did. Not a way to run a business.

This is a very direct complaint about a manager at Moonrise. The head chef. He is verbally abusive towards the high school and college aged employees that work there. An OCD control freak that is always looking for a problem with his employees and acts like a petty tyrant when the other manager is not around. I overheard the head chef blowing up at one of his young employees. Yelling and putting them down for the whole cafe to hear. Customers can hear his tantrums and it's bad for business. Do better.

Pre-ordered a coffee online. Arrived on time in the early morning, there was no other customers in the shop. I just wanted to pick up and go but the staff just started to make my coffee when I asked for it, I don't understand why wasn't ready in time. There was a little issue with the ice and whipped cream so I got my coffee 6-7 minutes later than the original pick up time. I was on my way to work, every minute matter. Bad experience. The coffee was good thou.

Rude staff, no greeting not welcoming at all. You have to walk up close and ask questions because you’ll be standing there unserviced for all they care. My first time going to this restaurant, I realized that I ordered coffee through DD before from them and though the drinks were good, I would never buy from them again after visiting in person. Jingoistic!

I love this place. My best friend lives in CT and took me here a few years ago when I visited her. We usually go here 2 or 3 times a week when I visit. I love their teas and their muffins are so good.

Had the protein stack and it's delicious. Coffee is really good and they have ample space for you to get work done there. Definitely adding this place to my list. Great to give the chains a break.

Unfortunately, our first visit to Moonrise Cafe was also our last. My wife and I came with a friend visiting from out of town after hearing good things, but the experience was disappointing from the moment we walked in. The cafe is incredibly dark inside, with dim lighting and a decor style that felt both tacky and overwhelmingly themed with pro-cop/over the top patriotic signage. That might be fine for some, but it wasn’t for us.
Ordering was awkward. The barista who helped us seemed new and a bit unsure with the point-of-sale system, but she was very kind and doing her best. Sadly, an older woman—who we assumed was the owner—jumped in and openly scolded her in front of us after a minor mistake, muttering “no, damnit!” under her breath. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional. We felt bad for the barista, who didn’t deserve that treatment.
We ordered two bagels and three drinks. Initially, we asked to dine in, but within seconds of saying that, we changed our mind and asked for it to go. The barista kindly went to notify the kitchen, but we could clearly hear the same older woman rudely say, “They changed their mind about to go within seconds??” in a very nasty tone. It wasn’t even busy—only a few other people were there. It made us feel like an inconvenience for the simplest request.
The drinks took about 10 minutes, which was fine, but the quality was lacking. My black coffee tasted like watered-down diner coffee. The mixed espresso drinks were missing both flavor and milk—bland and poorly balanced. When we got home and opened our food, things only got worse. I had asked for an everything bagel with just avocado. What I got was an untoasted bagel with barely two slices of avocado and butter (which I didn’t ask for and can’t eat due to a dairy sensitivity).
All in all, we left feeling unwelcome and disappointed. We won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend it to others.

We were in the area and stopped in for coffee. I am thrilled we did! The Saturday morning staff was friendly, helpful, and offered suggestions and options. In a day of DD and Starbucks where the employees are bothered if you have a question this was a welcome surprise.
I noticed nods to American pride and respect which I greatly appreciated and respect.
The quality of the coffee and workmanship of our lattes was top notch (and resulted in me ordering a berry smoothie and iced Wiccan tea-bliss!!).
All in all I'm happy and will be back next time in the area. Awesome
