This is a review for the Steakhouse (not the Tavern). We visited last night to celebrate a birthday and had a really great experience. The place is enormous and gorgeous, with ample outdoor seating on multiple decks that overlook the water. Really pretty setting. They've maintained much of the original tavern so it's still the same look and feel inside, but totally overhauled. Ryan was our waiter and he took excellent care of us from the first second we arrived. He really kindly acknowledged my husband's birthday, and he was perfectly attentive the entire time we were there. We never felt rushed, he kept checking back on us to be sure we were happy with our food, and when we asked for things (salt & pepper, extra lemons, a soup spoon), they were brought to us promptly. The four of us ordered a NY strip, the brick chicken, the crusted tuna, and the cavatelli. Every meal was delicious and cooked perfectly. We all tried each other's dishes and agreed there wasn't one "loser" in the bunch. The timing of everything was excellent. There was a gap in the timing between our appetizers and entrees that we really weren't noticing much, because we were just enjoying our conversation, but Ryan came out and told us "your entrees are coming soon," so HE was concerned about it, and I was impressed that he was trying his best to adjust our expectations. He was very good. The place has a beautiful cigar room on the top floor that will host a cigar dinner on 8/23 - looks like a great event if you're into cigars. This place is a 45 minute drive for us, and we wish it was closer. Hope it does well!

Overall I’d give Millpond a 9 out of 10. The atmosphere was beautiful, our server I forget his name, started with a K was phenomenal. We had the dumpling (outstanding), candy bacon OUT OF THIS WORLD! Shrimp cocktail eh. Dinner was the ribeye, the flavor was on point, however it could have been a little more on the rare side it was definitely closer to medium. Truffle fries were awesome, creamed spinach and artichoke wow! Chorizo potato croquets were great! Do not leave without carrot cake!!! All in all it was a great time, not sure if the price is worth the food though. I feel Flemings or Capital Grill are just as equal. I’d definitely come back though.

Beautiful backdrop and a delicious dinner. Do not sleep on the ricotta friiters for dessert. Amazing!
