Bar Bushido is hands down one of our favorite places to eat in Norwalk. The service is always excellent (shout out Kevin and Mikey), the drinks are incredible (thank you Kylie!!), and the unique experience of two restaurants in one is like no other. Kudos to the Bar Bushido team for creating the most unique restaurant experience in Norwalk
Bushido is one of our favorite sushi spots — the hand roll bar is exceptional, rivaling top NYC omakase experiences. Since we couldn’t get in there this time, we tried the front dining area. The sashimi platter ($47) —the server said it is four types of fish with three slices each — it was fresh and beautifully presented but quite sparse: a few thin pieces of fish, a touch of uni and fish eggs, and one large shrimp served with a large portion of rice. For a wedding anniversary we visited this restaurant based on spectacular food at the owners other restaurant Tap Root which we’d enjoyed. Atmosphere and service was similarly terrific, the food itself was strangely subpar. Edamame that didn’t go beyond stop and shop quality. Pickled vegetables (tap root had exceptional totally addictive pickled carrots ) which were lifeless and sad, barely any flavor beyond what seemed like simply old.
