I’ve been to Greer twice now. First for dinner summer of 2024 and for brunch last week. My partner had celiacs so we need to be careful about cross contamination with gluten. The first time we went was a great experience. The server was knowledgeable and made us confident in his and the kitchen’s understanding of our allergy restrictions and the food was very good. This made the experience we had last weekend much more of a disappointment. We called ahead to ensure that there were safe gluten free options on the brunch menu and had a good idea of what we planned to order as a result but as is our usual practice we still asked our server when he greeted us to verify that we were ordering safely. He unfortunately didn’t have a good understanding of the menu or allergens so he had to check with kitchen staff (again this is proper practice and I’d always prefer they ask to be sure than risk glutening us). He didn’t return to take our food order for over 20 minutes and appeared to forget about us as he tended to other tables. When he finally returned he had forgotten to ask and had to go to the back again. We weren’t in a rush so we would have happily sipped our coffees while we waited but the cappuccino and latte we were served were undrinkable. I don’t know if the espresso machine was malfunctioning or the person who made it wasn’t familiar with it but it was very watery and stale with no foam on my cappuccino. We asked to change them out for regular drip coffee which tasted great so that was the right move. We ordered a starter and entrees and everything dropped at our table at once at varying temperatures. By this point it was starting to get busy but it was still disappointing after such a long wait. We let our server know our frustration and he was apologetic and absolutely made it right but it was a stark decline in experience from our first visit so I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt that it was just an off day but I’m not sure we will be back for brunch because the gf options were limited. The pimento cheese is delicious!
Dietary restrictions: Some gluten free options but the staff was not very knowledgeable about celiacs and the fryer is not gluten free.

Very good southern food. I had the scalllops and cheddar grits. Delicious! My only complaint is that the portion size was very small for what I ordered. I was still hungry after my meal. The portions were better for what my friends ordered.

Our second time back and it has a geeat atmosphere and vibes. Most food is good but tends to be underseasoned. Deviled eggs are so so good! I would expect the fried chicken to have more pepper and spices. It was very bland. Other brunch dishes were decent but underseasoned.

Southern hospitality? I think not. The south would be offended that Greer served me a hard as a rock biscuit and one measly little egg for breakfast.
Xoxo foodie girl
The food was good. My family and I enjoyed it. I didn't care too much for the banana pudding or the corn bread but enjoyed the duck fat fried wings and the fried oysters that I ordered.

The chicken was great but the sides were barely room temperature at best, not even warm. I would have sent them back, but it took a half hour for it to arrive the first time and we had to get back home to the babysitter.

Aesthetics were nice but the actual fried chicken dish which I was looking forward to was very under seasoned.

Two people should never walk into a restaurant and spend $50 and walk out hungry. There are a lot of issues with this place, so I’ll go in order. You walk into what’s supposed to be a brunch place and there is no coffee, or espresso drinks on the menu. You should never have to ask if a brunch place has coffee. We ordered biscuits and gravy and chicken and waffles. While the biscuits and gravy tasted alright, the biscuits were tiny and they only give one egg. Absolutely absurd portion size for a $16 dish. The chicken and waffles was flat out bad. The waffle seemed like it came frozen based how soggy it was. They also failed to mention on the menu that there’s bone in the chicken for the chicken and waffles, something that certainly would have been a dealbreaker. As you would expect, we had plenty of chicken and waffles left on the plate when the waitress came over to ask if we were done. I was hoping she would ask how our food was so I would have an opportunity to express my disappointment with the dish, but they somehow didn’t catch that the plate had barely been picked at and simply asked us if we’d like a box. Knowing that they didn’t care if I was satisfied or not, I decided to take what was left because I’ll be damned if I’m going to let $20 go to waste on food I’m not going to eat. As we walked out, a lady who seemed like a manager or owner asked what we thought. But by then we had already paid and we knew that telling her how disappointing it was wouldn’t get us anywhere so we lied, said it was good and left.
Such a waste of potential. Overall, I am very disappointed that my girlfriend and I wanted to go out for a nice brunch and we walked out having spent way too much money to be completely unsatisfied.

Tried to order and pick up at 7:30 and the website wasn’t taking orders so I called and they said they closed their take out at 7:30 but they close at 11pm?
Kid-friendliness: There were families with kids but I would not dare bring my own children.

The staff was so nice and very professional but unfortunately (and I hope it was just an off day) but we were there for 90 minutes before our food came. Also unfortunately, we ordered bottomless mimosas and while they were delicious, we each got 2 in the span of an hour, so it didn’t feel worth the expense. I would go to Greer again because they have a great menu and the staff were so friendly, but the service today was just so so bad.

Jazz was an exceptional server. 12/10
Everything was perfect. Food, the detail and attention to service, the food suggestions, and the birthday pictures
Thank you Jazz, and Greer Southern Table.

I was a little disappointed. Brisket was dry and tough. Our server, Katie (I believe) was nice though. There was another one there that completely ignored us when I tried to ask her for something. 3 stars because the 1st half of our brunch started out nice and I thought I would want to try their dinner service. Now I am not so sure.

Food and drinks were amazing, service was impeccable. Jason is the best! We will be back for sure. In the meantime I will dream of the bourbon sweet tea and banana pudding.

Greer is one of the best restaurants in Norwalk. Greer is the owner of the restaurant and if you are familiar with Norwalk, she used to own peaches, which was another amazing southern restaurant. Greer and her partner Kendall are amazing people and that is reflected in their staff. Everyone here has that sweet southern charm that puts a smile on your face. The atmosphere of her new restaurant is lively and classy. They have a wonderful bar and tall windows to let the sunlight in. The food is absolutely fantastic. The first time I came here was for a team happy hour where I got to taste many of the appetizers as well as the entrées. There was not one thing that I did not love. The standouts are their Duckfat chicken wings, which are confit chicken wings in duck fat, that then fried and covered in a deliciously spicy Cajun seasoning. These are the best wings in Norwalk. I am in love with their burger. I could argue that this is also one of the best burgers in Norwalk. If you have never been here, do not walk run.
