If price gouging had a nickname it would be Mil Sabores. From what was a fantastic food truck, to a small restaurant on the corner, had turned into an example of how greed and exploitation of customers with bad spending habits has kept this business going. From quarterly menu price changes to the revolving door of miserable looking staff, they have lost focus on what was beautiful about this restaurant from the get go. A well established Mexican/Venezuelan restaurant serving all the comfort food of being Latino.
The food has and always will be incredible, but it is impossible to continue supporting an establishment that has raised prices nearly every 6 - 10 months. A birria pizza went from $28 dollars in 2023 to $38 today. An arepa from 12 to 16 dollars, most items raise by 5 dollars in less than 2 years is insane. It makes you appreciate restaurants that have raised prices by actual cost and not some random number.
Ex. Hole in the wall in Fairfield added an extra charge when eggs skyrocketed with a notice, and the moment prices went down it notified that they’ve decreased the prices. As a customer this absolutely surprised me in the best way anf now I will be a lifelong patron.
What feels most exploitive about this is that the Instagram is updated nearly everyday yet has a pinned menu from 2 years ago.
I’ve enjoyed seeing this business grow and having recommend it to nearly every friend and family member for the past 5 years , I can no longer support it. I wish it well and am sure it will continue to have success but it is still disappointing.

A night that was supposed to be special turned into a huge disappointment

I came to this restaurant because my friend’s daughter chose it to celebrate her birthday. I drove over an hour from Stamford on a Friday night, November 7th, expecting to share a joyful evening with people I care about. Instead, I ended up feeling frustrated, disrespected, and deeply disappointed.

When we arrived, even though there was a reservation, we had to wait another full hour just to be seated. No explanation, no apology—just standing there, hungry and confused.

Once seated, things didn’t get better. Our food came out at completely different times, with the last plate arriving almost 30 minutes after the first. It was disorganized and felt like we didn’t matter.

The worst part for me was the food I ordered: pabellón criollo, a dish I know well and was really looking forward to. What I got was a plate so salty and over-seasoned that I could barely eat it. I told the waitress and asked kindly if it could be taken off the bill. She said it wasn’t possible because only the manager could make that decision—and he wasn’t there.

That answer felt like a slap in the face. I work with TOAST Tab, the same restaurant system they use, and I know for a fact that’s not true. It felt like they were just brushing me off, hoping I’d accept it quietly.

I didn’t. I had no choice but to leave without paying for my dish—because being charged for something inedible, with no solution offered, was just unacceptable.

It’s really sad when a night that should’ve been filled with joy becomes a memory of frustration. I don’t usually leave reviews like this, but people deserve to know what to expect.

10-10 no issues at all

Food is solid. But not for that price. When the rice takes up half the plate it makes you wonder. Didn’t ask for a temp on the steak, which was a bit over salted. 80 bucks for lunch including tip with one soda is a bit extreme.

As a Venezuelan, I’m always looking for safe spaces that make us feel closer to home. On July 5th, we celebrated a historic moment—the first Venezuelan flag raised by the city of Bridgeport to celebrate Venezuela independence. After this emotional and proud event, we decided to continue the celebration by visiting this Venezuelan restaurant to enjoy traditional food and culture.

Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. We brought live Venezuelan music performed at a high artistic level, hoping to contribute to the ambiance and share a piece of our heritage. However, the staff was not collaborative. Rather than embracing the live performance, they turned up their own music loudly, creating a clash that showed little respect for our contribution or for Venezuelan cultural expression.

It was disheartening to feel disconnected in a place that should represent our traditions. I expected more support and appreciation for Venezuelan art, especially from a restaurant that carries our country’s name and identity. This experience left me feeling disrespected and saddened

Came in for Brunch and it was extremely loud. I am not sure how can one have lunch with friends or family and be able to listen to each other. Food took about 50 minutes while seeing other newer tables provided with their food before us. Waiter was pleasant and very accommodating. However, I wish the owner was able to show face and rectify the problem. Seems like he/she is more concerned about flipping the table to sit in the next customer rather than fixing an unhappy customer. After carefully reviewing more reviews it comes to no surprise that he is rude and disrespectful to customers feedback. 100% don’t recommend.

I’ve been coming here for a while now, and I’ve got to say it never disappoints. The food is seriously amazing – every dish is packed with flavor and just hits the spot. Plus, the atmosphere is so chill and inviting, it feels like you’re catching up with friends even if you’re just there solo. Honestly, whenever I’m craving good food, this is the one place I know I can always count on.

They are very rude. I called over the phone and ordered steak tacos and when I got to the restaurant I payed for my food expecting it to be steak tacos in the bag but it was some type of fish tacos that I never even heard of before. So I went back into the restaurant to tell them that they got my order wrong and they told me that they didn’t get the order wrong and that’s what she heard me say on the phone and they where not trying to give me a refund for my order. So basically they just took my money. They are very rude and racist and I don’t recommend anyone to ever go there!!

My partner placed an order at this place and I picked it up from another city and I missed the trip since they played with me because the order was never taken. Be serious if you tell people they can pick up the order, have the order ready. Don't play with people's time. I do not recommend this restaurant
