Best Italian food in the area and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. They go out of their way to make sure your food is prepared as you like it. Lasagna, chicken parm & chicken francese are great but the steak and seafood are excellent also. They also own Romanacci, two doors down in the same plaza. Great pizza and smaller plates. Right next to that is Oggi Gelato!

We didn't set out looking for Osteria Romana but had just returned from a full day of travel that ended at JFK airport. We were hungry, and Norwalk was about halfway home. We logged into OpenTable and searched for an Italian restaurant in Norwalk and chose Osteria Romana. It was easy to get to off of I-95 and had ample parking. We went inside and were pleasantly greeted and seated immediately. The ambiance was pleasant. A delivery of breads with a bowl of warm olive oil and roasted garlic arrived at the table. We ordered cocktails, which were delicious. For an appetizer we had calamari fritti with fradiavolo sauce. The calamari were tender and cooked to a perfect crispness, and the sauce was served on the side, so the dish wasn't soggy at all. My husband had the veal scarpiello - prepared exactly the way it should be, nice and spicy. I had the baked eggplant with homemade mozzarella. The sauce was absolutely delicious. I also had a side of broccoli rabe - served with just enough oil and garlic - not swimming in it. We ordered a nice bottle of super Tuscan wine with our dinner. The waitstaff was very attentive and responsive throughout our visit. The entire dinner including drinks, appetizer, bottle of wine, and entrees was very affordable ($140), and very, very delicious. The servings were enough that we both took home leftovers to enjoy for lunch the next day. We highly recommend Osteria Romana and will definitely be returning.

The tuna special was overdone; pastas just so-so. Burrata app was delicious. When the check arrived, instead of our 2 cappuccinos we were charged for 5 of them plus a dessert which we also did not order. I know most people simply split the bill without looking. When corrected, the waitress says thank you for noticing. This left a bad impression and feels dishonest.

Always great food and service. Go to spot for celebrations and just because you want a good meal !!

The ambiance of the restaurant was very nice. My wife had branzino and I had eggplant parmigiana. Both were delicious. I also had a pear salad that was good but a bit underdressed. We then shared affogato for dessert that was yummy. The service was great and the bill was modest for what we had. I recommend!

Very nice looking place and a unique bar feature. The strip steak wasn't particularly flavorful and I was told that the fish (Trout) I believe, was over-seasined, so it took away from the natural flavor. They had a nice wine list, everybody's plates looked delicious and the service was responsive and friendly.

Thank you Manny for another wonderful meal! Consistently the best Italian restaurant in the area.

The tuna was fair at best. The eggplant parmigiana was delicious. My advice is to stick to Italian food which is winderful.

Food & service was excellent. It was not very busy so it felt like we had full focus of the staff

I was disappointed with the food this time. My clams casino appetizer was full of shells, the clams were not cut from the shell making difficult to pry loose, and they were topped with chopped carrots( unusual) and big, undercooked pieces of bacon. The chicken in the chicken piccata was very tough. Very disappointing for an old standby!

One of our favorite restaurants! Excellent meal. We'll be back again soon. Thank you!

Osteria is a neighborhood gem and a guaranteed authentic Italian restaurant. I've had intimate dinners, as well as birthday parties, and most recently my wedding rehearsal dinner here; we've NEVER had a bad meal, or one that was 'ok'. The quality is excellent and it's real Italian food, not the 'americanized' stuff that a lot of other restaurants that call themselves Italian do...

Following an afternoon at the mall my daughter and I wanted a nice Italian late lunch. Osteria Romano did not disappoint. The food was truly authentic and fresh. We always share our food so we can try more dishes and the restaurant split the plates for us! We had a lovely bottle of Valpolicella and even had dessert! I am very picky but this place was on point! Loved it!

Can’t comment on the food, we waited a half hour past our reservation time and left. The manager didn’t seem to care.

My wife and I were traveling from N.H. and always try for the best Italian restaurant. We found it here. The food was traditional Italian from salad to desserts. Service was extra pleasant, and the atmosphere was perfect. What I did like, was the great music they played during our dinner. If we are ever in the area again, we certainly will come back!
