Nice people. Lots of good things.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Rowayton Market, and it was a fantastic experience. Nestled by the water, the restaurant offers a beautiful view of the Sound, making for a perfect backdrop to enjoy a meal.
I started with the Amish herb lemon chicken, which was grilled to perfection—tender and full of flavor. The grilled mixed vegetables added a delightful crunch and complemented the dish beautifully.
I also tried the feta spinach, which was rich and savory, making for a great pairing with the chicken.
To finish, I couldn’t resist the raspberry cake. It was the ideal sweet treat, light and bursting with flavor.
Overall, Rowayton Market is a gem, offering delicious food and a stunning view. If you’re looking for a lovely spot to dine by the water, this place is a must-visit!
Recently came in and in addition to food from the deli, bought three hot chocolates from the bakery. All three turned out to be scalding hot and burned our mouths. I asked for a bit of milk to be added to cool the temp down a bit and was met with a defensive attitude and told that’s how they always make them. No apology. No remorse that they had scalded customers. No care. Word of warning, zero friendliness from the bakery and if you order hot drinks, be sure to mention to turn down the steamer a bit or you’ll be scalded and they won’t care.
I have been here many times and am constantly disappointed. The location is stunning, with seating outside overlooking the harbor, but the staff have a serious attitude problem. Pastries are stale, sandwiches are thrown together with very little care and I have not yet managed to get anyone to smile. Do they all hate their jobs? So sad, as this place should be amazing
Great place for food and coffee. Extensive range of delicious offerings and great outdoor seating with a riverside view.
I ordered a roast beef sandwich. It arrived immediately. Tossed on the counter 5 seconds after I paid AND tipped. PREMADE! Not fresh. I had asked if the beef was rare before ordering and got a bored nod from the man who took my order and my money. When I sat down and opened the wrapper the sandwich fell completely apart. There was clearly no finesse in the preparation. The bread was cold, (just out of the fridge) and the meat was NOT rare and quite tasteless. The lettuce was fresh but fell out with the also tasteless tomato slices. A complete mess. This was my first visit as I am new to the area and this lunch was a great disappointment. Just sayin’.
Unfortunately, experienced very rude treatment from a woman related to one of the owners today. They need to learn how to be in service business, not in the investment/finance business. The other owner is super nice and always welcoming (the taller one.)
The grilled chicken sandwich with pesto exceeded my expectations
Well-stocked shop, they know how to advise you and low costs.
Disappointed, all sandwiches are premade and sitting out all day; soggy and low quality. Miss the old owners- place needs to put more pride into what they’re serving and charging people more than it’s worth.

Great coffee with water views.
This is a truly special market.
Great selection, fresh produce, was excited to see Jeni ice cream. Overall really nice market.
Great place for an meal while having conversation...
Don’t go here for deli sandwiches - they will just give you the minimum… ordered a chicken cutlet (on a wedge) and it’s more bread than anything. Like small mini breasts on each side. Not a protein dense filling sandwich and when you ask them to make you one they look at you all puzzled. On a side note - there steak egg and cheese was pretty good but they forgot to add hot sauce on mine
