This was our first experience at this restaurant and from entering the building to having our dinner and having some cocktails, the experience was extraordinary. The food was delicious. The cocktails were amazing, and the vibes were very comfortable and welcoming.
It was a great night but I wish they didn't seat so many tables so close together. My grandmother and I were on top of the people next to us it felt like. It was hard to have a conversation without everyone listening in.
Sails never disappoints. From the menu choices to the quality of the food and the incredible service it's one of the best restaurants I've ever been to!
We love Sails! The clientele is always friendly and family oriented, which is the best vibe. The staff is attentive and the menu offers a wide range from casual to elegant dishes. Only 1 of our guests likes sushi, so how fun that we don't need to go to a sushi restaurant to humor her tastebuds. Sails does an excellent job on any and all seafood, sandwiches, salads and bowls, and offers a very creative list of specials. If you get any chance to dine outdoors, do so. You feel as though you could be in the Hamptons at a tony restaurant, or along the New England coast in Madison, Mystic, or Newport.
Nice place. The food is presented nicely. It was ok I wouldn't say great. I asked for my burger without onions and it came with it. The pizza appetizer was good but it didn't say spicy and it was! I would try again- maybe it was a so so night. Ambience nice. Bar very nice
First time at this restaurant and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I wish that there was a rating between Very Good (4 stars) and Exceptional (5) as that might better capture my positive feelings. We were looking for an outside dining experience and this fit the bill. Food was really good as was the wine. On the main (but quaint) drag in Rowayton, this place is charming, especially if you are looking for a seaside (sound-side?) location and can't get a reservation at Rowayton Seafood. We'll be going back here.
Our party of five was at Sails for a birthday brunch. The menu was broad and excellent. We enjoyed lobster rolls, poke bowls and a crab cake burger. Each entree was delicious and presented elegantly. We will definitely keep Sails in mind for brunch and other meals!
My husband and I had a delicious dinner! The sushi rolls at buy one and get one free on Wednesdays and Sundays are a great deal and my husband said his gazpacho was the best he's ever had! We will be back!
Great menu.. everything we ordered at our table was excellent.. great specials and desert.. Only item I would t recommend was the Manhattan special.. smoked bacon Manhattan just didn't work
Ask me on any given night where I want to go to dinner in CT, and it's Sails. I compare it to being the Hillstone of Connecticut. Pretty much no complains from me. The food is solid in a comfortable dining room with very attentive staff.

Great cocktails, great drinks, great staff. We just happen to need to go a little earlier ( 6:30) and it was charmingly full of families, which just meant about 15 kids under 5, So its playground loud. But thats Saturday early evening in a small town with few restaurant choices for families. Love the place, just need to go after the family time.
Customer Service & Food Quality Review:
We brought our concerns to the staff about a disappointing meal—the lobster ravioli turned out to be plain cheese ravioli, with a few tough, low-quality bits of lobster sprinkled on top. At $37, it was misleading and overpriced. When we politely shared our feedback with the waitstaff, we were simply handed a dessert menu and the check—no acknowledgment and no effort to make things right. Disappointed in both the dish and the lack of response to honest customer feedback.
Good food, comfy room. The waitstaff was a little slow to respond with drinks. A neighborhood gem in any event.
Wings were good - little too spicy but the drinks kept it cool .... nice bar by the water ....CT living
We love this place. Wouldn't recommend early Sunday night unless you want to be surrounded by families with small children.
