Always friendly and accommodating with my gluten allergy. The Spanish Mussel appetizer was to die for! We even saved the sauce and put it on our main course rice! Have been here many times and never disappointed!

We love Peruvian food and had always deferred to Cora Cora in West Hartford as the best Peruvian restaurant in Connecticut, until, last week, when we discovered Canggio in Norwich. The menu, the service, the food were absolutely 5-Star.
We knew right away this was going to be a great experience because the menu offered things we had not tried and ingredients we had never sampled. That being said, we had the perfect server in Elena. She was funny, and bright, and quick to grasp what kind of patrons we were. She steered us to the items she felt were the stars of the menu and she was 100% correct.
For starters the Parihuela was perfectly seasoned and wonderfully hot, which paired well with the Tiradito. The cold mussel salad was tangy and fresh, yet the mussels remained the star of this appetizer and everyone was please with what they ordered.
Elena talked me into the Catacao and I am glad she did. Instead of a massive portion of pasta , I got a great balance of jalapeno, chicken, cilantro and pappardelle. I was eating it in tiny bites so it would last longer. My wife loves octopus but so often it tends to be overcooked. In this case it was perfect; it had a great char yet retained its soft texture as opposed to being rubbery. It was a wonderful Chorrillana. Our other two entrees were the Lomo, and the coffee crusted salmon, both of which were exquisite. We were very happy that Elena recommended the side of octopus. It really is perfectly done at Canggio. One of our favorite things about Canggio is we could watch the chefs prepare all of the food and it is amazing how much they produce from a small working kitchen. It all looked and smelled divine.
We ordered one of each of the 4 desserts and while they were all great, the pumpkin, sweet potato syrup picarones were the best, though we did take 2 of the Tentacion De Chocolate ganache home with us.
What a wonderful dinner and a perfect dining experience.

Amazing and flavorful food as always !!
Party of 3
We had the trio ceviche, and calamari as our app great size portions. We even had enough to take some home.
For our entree- we shared the pulpo (my husband and my go to every damn time) and the flavors are so perfect. We also shared the lomo a Peruvian staple and the lomo was also so flavorful.
We shared the flan and churro for dessert.
Every flavor of sauce Julio makes I wish I could bottle up and take home.
Such a little gem in Norwich.
Thank you Julio. And Elena your are a rockstar too.
Thanks for your amazing margaritas and recommendations.
We appreciate you both.

We love this restaurant! Impeccable service, delicious food, and cozy atmosphere. We had a variety of dishes. Empanadas to start. 2 are plenty for 4 people to share. Burger, Jalesca, Thre pesto pasta w/chicken, and the roast 1/2 chicken with yucca fries and salad. Pistachio cake to finish it all off. Every dish was delicious, prepared and served with care. Can't wait to go back.
This was my our visit to Canaggio's and it was for a New Year's Eve Peruvian dinner. It was a standout experience. The restaurant's intimate setting immediately set the tone for a warm and welcoming evening. The ambience struck a lovely balance—elevated yet relaxed, perfect for a celebratory night without feeling rushed or crowded. The service was exceptional from start to finish. Every staff member we encountered was polite, courteous, and genuinely attentive without ever being intrusive. Their timing and professionalism added so much to the overall experience. One of the most unique and enjoyable aspects of the evening was the open kitchen. Watching the chef prepare each dish in real time brought an energy and authenticity that you don't often find. The light kitchen chatter between the chef and staff felt like being let in on the behind-the-scenes magic rather than a distraction—an unexpectedly charming touch. Each course was prepared to order, which meant a slower, more intentional pace to the meal. It gave us the perfect opportunity to enjoy conversation with our table guests and savor each dish without feeling hurried. The entire evening felt thoughtfully curated, from the food to the flow. A wonderful first visit—and a memorable way to welcome the New Year. I'm already looking forward to returning.
The food is fantastic; the flavors are perfectly balanced. Portions were large, which made it great for tasting , bring friends who are okay with that as there are so many choices. Eliana, was wonderful with explaining each item and making suggestions based on named preference. Ask for recommendations for wine pairing, they hit every note correctly
If in the Norwich Area Canggio is a must dine option. My wife and I are currently working our way thru their menu. The brunch options are so tasty, delicious and life changing. On Christmas Day I went with the Mushroom and chicken crepe. It was the beginning of some legendary Christmas Day decisions. We have eaten here many times and the food is always quite honestly legendary. The kind of place you plan your next outing before you finish your meal.

We had a fabulous dinner here before going to a show at Foxwoods. Friendly service that was attentive and efficient. Delicious meals were served hot with quality preparation. The grilled flank steak was tender and seasoned right served over a bed of rice with onions. Ambiance was updated and modern. A bit drafty when the door was opened, especially sitting close to the entrance. I would return again when in the area.
Food smelled incredible. I could taste the food 😋
Lomo was good & portioning was upsetting for 33$ ?! &
ordered takeout and no utensils :(

A restaurant that had fallen off our radar in the past couple years…Canggio! It randomly popped into my head last night and took me by surprise bc it hasnt been in our rotation at all lately. So off we went, and man….Im SO GLAD we did!! What a wonderful dining experience! The bartender Alaina (sp?) was incredible. Present, attentive, knowledgeable and willing to make a drink that I offered. She is very good at what she does and it shows. Her expertise and the willingness of the owner/chef to come and chat with us made our night. Then there’s the FOOD. OMG. You can taste the love and effort that goes into this food. We started with the ceviche trio. Each one was so fresh and bright. Jay got the flank steak and I got the octopus. I have to say the octopus was cooked to perfection and the presentation was unique w the spinach mashed potato wave. Absolutely delicious. She even suggested a wine that would properly accompany my dish. We usually skip dessert, but we couldn’t pass up the cream filled churros with ice cream and chocolate raspberry sauce. Again, perfect. I cannot say enough about Canggio. Just GO. So glad we did! 🍽️🍷🥃

Wonderful find! We were attending the Sting concert at Mohegan Sun and were honestly struggled to find a restaurant at the casino. We made reservations and were seated right away. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable and we followed their recommendations on a few items. The calamari was the best we ever had and we live in Rhode Island :). They even brought complimentary champagne as it was our anniversary. Highly recommend!
