The owner is always checking on your satisfaction with your meal. The food is great.
He even stayed open late for a group of us after a memorial service, offering us free rice pudding and taking the time out to chat about the person that had passed. Great Oak Pizza was one of her favorite pizza places.

I don't work there. The behavior of your employee Marilyn that works there as a waitress is awful. She needs to stop talking about her personal life to customers and do her job...her behavior and paying attention to the customer if awful, unsatisfactory. Many people I know respect and trust me candidly. Lot's of local will be taking their money elsewhere. People and locals are tired of atmosphere in ur business. Ur employees need to take responsibility for their actions and be accountable. Customers don't want to hear yelling, unprofessional and deal with repetitive mistakes by ur employees. Many people within the area including me will not return due unprofessional at Great Oak Pizza in Norwich, CT. Now take that to the bank.

WOW!!! WOW!!! I couldn't believe what happened on Thursday 12/18/25 around 2:20 in the afternoon. I thought the owner was being kind to all customers at the beginning of my visit. A man walked in and picked up his order and the owner was sitting on the table and literally jumped toward the man and offered him a bag of any size chips. The man declined at first and the owner insisted he take any size bag and was showing him different flavored chips. He ended up taking a bag and left. The owner threw himself at the man and made him uncomfortable and I was very uncomfortable with that pathetic display. It was very hard to watch. I am beside myself. Then comes in another couple picking up their takeout order and they were offered a free dessert. They later accepted and left. Now mind you there was only me and and 2 ladies behind me in the whole restaurant at that time I was dining there. I am under the assumption the owner is showing some kindness during the holidays to all of his customers but boy was I wrong. I have been going there for a couple of years and I am certainly not a stranger. The place is small.
I have no problem with an owner giving customers free food especially around the Christmas holiday but you as an owner have to be fair to ALL customers present. I personally was wasn't offered ANYTHING. All I got was a loud waiter yelling across the room are you ready for your check. TONE IT DOWN. TOO LOUD. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.
I DO NOT EVER EXPECT TO RECEIVE ANYTHING FOR FREE BUT WHAT I DO EXPECT IS TO BE TREATED WITH FAIRNESS AND RESPECT AND KINDNESS. I FELT SINGLED OUT, HURT, DEEPLY OFFENDED AND EXCLUDED BY YOUR GROSS CONDUCT AND THAT WAS A VERY TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE FOR ME. NOT AT ALL AN INCLUSIVE CULTURE THERE AS I FOUND OUT. GET ME OUT OF YOUR RESTAURANT ASAP!!!!!!

Your place needs a serious update inside and out. And a deep cleaning also.
