Johnny's Clam Shack (Open for the season April 12th, 2024)

Food is excellent with generous portions. Well worth visiting!!

This is a street side shack, no ambiance but the food was delicious, fish, calamari, clam bites, shrimp, onion rings and fresh made delicious Cole slaw. Caitlin was super nice, made suggestions and we were delighted. Although I didn’t love the New England clam chowder or lobster bisque, my husband did!

Not as good as they used to be sadly. Fritters mostly dough, barely saw a clam. Scallops oily and coating is different, dinner didn’t come with any sides. Fish and chips okay. Definitely notice a change sadly.

Felt bad for the young girl working there. She was being screamed at by the chef. I also had to wait for cocktail sauce even though I asked for it from the beginning. No one replied to my private message regarding his poor taste in words to a child so I’m assuming it was the owner. We will not ever be returning because of him and his behavior. He seemed very overwhelmed and stressed. Second time this happened.

Stopped in for an early dinner on a Saturday evening and had a great meal. I had the shrimp platter special with beer battered onion rings, hush puppies & cole slaw. The bride had the calamari platter with onion rings and cole slaw. Everything was hot, fresh & delicious. The owner came out to deliver the food & we had a great chat. We highly recommend Johnny's Clam Shack. We were even offered a sampler cup of their chowder & lobster bisque. Not many restaurants do that. We will be back again. Excellent experience all the way around.

The food was fresh and delicious. The service was wonderful. Food came out hot and quick. They had tables under a tent or picnic tables facing the road. It was not too bad. It’s a quick place to grab some good food and leave. Which is what we did. Well worth it.

Food was great way above market price and eating area I had to clean myself food hot and fresh soda pricey ice melted down before my food came.

This place has the greatest seafood around! By far the best tasting fish sandwich ever! It has a buttery taste and texture anf is to die for! End up going here looking for a hot buttered lobster roll and they hadn't started them yet for the season and was advised about theit gish sandwiches and I figured what the hey and gave it a try and font regret it at all! I've been getting these sandwiches every single week fot the last 4 months and their so good that the next day im already craving them all over again 😩 😋. Do give them a try and I can bet that you won't regret doing so lol!

Some of the food is good when they have it. The “Arnold Palmer” lemonade and iced tea mix isn’t the real thing. The little crab cake bites are really good. The owner makes too big a deal out of politics. Ideologies have no place in my food.

We stopped by for dinner last night and ordered clam chowder and 6 clam fritters.
As always, the chowder was creamy and delicious...but the fritters were pretty sad. They were lukewarm at best, tasteless and had no clams. Our order came to our table super fast, which I questioned because it didn't seem like enough time to fry up a fresh hot batch of fritters. I feel our order was sitting for a bit and served as fresh made. We've decided to go elsewhere for fresh, hot and delicious seafood.
