I had the jerk chicken, rice & peas, baked mac & cheese, and cabbage and it was all delicious! Chicken was very flavorful and jerk sauce on the rice & peas made my day. Def going back.Also had a homemade Mommy's Passion Lemonade drink and loved it.

What a delight!! My friends and I were referred here to enjoy delicious, fresh Haitian cuisine, and LOTS of it!! This food and owner did NOT disappoint!! I loved the Jerk Chicken and Black Bean Polenta.. Every dish was tasty, and the restaurant owner was friendly and attentive. Come dine here for a great experience ?

Stopped in for lunch - 2 of us for a first visit - It was a Friday @ 1:30. First impression is what I call cafeteria restaurant - not really a true restaurant with waitstaff - but go up to counter and place order from large tv screen. Ok, fine... but it went downhill quickly from there. Small menu on a large screen that keeps changing images - VERY annoying! Then soft-spoken woman behind counter tells us that 2 out of 6 items they are out of... and the person that I was with wanted those. I had to repeat everything that she said to my friend because he couldn't hear her over the loud music. We walked out and went down the street to Old Tymes. Shame though because the Jerk chicken looked good though I thought it was pricey. In no rush to return.

Mommy's Delicious Food is amazing. I love the taste of all the food. The service is excellent. There's no waiting time. Every time I went to eat there, I got served right away and you're also get served a lot of food for your money. This is one of the best Caribbean food in the New London county. If you never eat there I strongly encourage you to stop by and trust me you'll not be disappointed.Parking: Easy to park your car they have plenty of parking.
We had Mommy’s cater our wedding. The first thing anyone said about attending our wedding was how amazing the food was. We are from Boston and had guests from all over the country (and world). People who had never eaten Caribbean food, picky eaters and our Caribbean guests all agreed it was some of the best food they ever had. The portions are generous, the service is kind, they make you feel like family. Every time I drive by there, I crave the oxtail and cabbage.

My sister and I drove down to Norwich to try Mommy's Delicious Food after I had passed it when in the area earlier in week. Plenty of parking is available for this and the few other businesses in the small plaza. The restaurant itself appeared clean although the music was loud making conversation with the staff difficult. It is also rather hot in the restaurant which is fine because the food is counter service for eat-in at one of the many tables along the windows or take-out. There is also a patio area in the front of the restaurant that overlooks West Main Street. We ordered three meals. Two were curried chicken and the third was curried goat. Due to the aforementioned music volume, I had trouble hearing the women who took the orders and put them together but we managed to get all the sides and mains sorted. All three orders had rice and vegetables as sides. Once our food was packed, we paid at different counter. We brought the food back to my house, about 25 minutes from Mommy's. The food was still warm and we started eating. The portion of vegetables, which were tasty, was small, as was the portion of curried goat. The rice to goat ratio was completely lopsided. I ended up tossing a large portion of rice because I didn't have anymore meat to enjoy with it. The orders of curried chicken included a similar imbalance of meat to rice. There were basically two legs, no thighs, per order. Although all of the items we ordered tasted good, we probably won't return due to the distance to pickup for takeout and the lopsided portions.

This is a great choice for vegan food. Vegetables are great and there's always rice. It's like going home to eat. There is always something interesting. I can't find okra anywhere else in CT. The beef is so tender! The spices are perfect and not overwhelming. I have to drive 30 minutes to get there but it's worth it. Portions are large, I have lunch for two days. Yep, I highly recommend Mommy's.
