The hotel is in the process of a major renovation featuring a make-shift check-in counter, no on-site restaurant, access through the back (inconvenient for Uber/Lyft).The rooms are definitely showing their age with cabinet/furniture being worn out, with numerous rooms facing the construction areas.I love the Hyatt brand overall and understand the renovation is much needed. However, I will shun away from this hotel in 2024.

This hotel is very tired, smelly, dirty, and not up to Hyatt standards. It is undergoing renovations, but in the meantime the room smelled like a roadside motel, the AC didn’t work, and the room furnishings were falling apart. The staff was very nice, mainly the front desk woman and room service delivery man. However, until the renovation is complete this hotel leaves much to be desired and is certainly not a 4-star experience.

I stayed here for a work event, and I’m glad I didn’t have to spend my own money! Walls are paper thin, and the parking fee of $20 is bananas. On top of that, it has very little in the way of food; unless you want to order room service, your only option is a tiny “market” that charges $5 for a convenience store muffin. It’s such a large and isolated complex that you have to drive if you want to get to anything else in the area. Bed was comfy though.

Right by Todd’s Point so if you’re there between December and May, you can go to the beach for free! Rooms are luxury. Service is very attentive. Only complaint is that you can hear everyone outside your room & people in the rooms beside you.

Excellent location, close to downtown Stamford and right off the highway.Rooms: Large clean rooms, Chromecast capable tvsNearby activities: Close to downtown Stamford. Plenty to eat and do. About 10 minutes from Stamford Town CenterSafety: Very safeFood & drinks: Small market for breakfast and dinner(order to go directly to room). A little on the pricey side, so we just ate somewhere else.Noteworthy details: Parking is $20 overnight, and the valet is 30-35(I believe)

Disappointed. Booked for a weekend getaway surprise for my finances birthday. The experience was not as advertised. The website indicated they are undergoing renovations for which I assumed was to the rooms, however, it was for the front entrance and the atrium. The front entrance is blocked off with gates and the atrium is blocked off with plastic curtains. Since the front entrance was completely blocked off we had to drive around to the back where the parking lot was full do to other events taking place and had a long walk in the rain to the door. The room walls were extremely dirty and we didn’t have any hand soap in our bathroom. Walls were THIN and could hear others conversations from their rooms. Overall wish I booked somewhere else because this is not the experience I wanted to have for a birthday weekend.

CONSTRUCTION!! - DISRUPTION !! - SECURITY?! - HOSPITALITY?!---Read to the end of this review for a conclusion. Our 11 PM arrival felt weird from the start. The limited sentences about "construction" on the website doesn't allude to the massive closure of all front entrances or the roundabout way to get to the back parking area with a barely visible "do not park here" sign next to the alternate entrance. The parking lot was still full of ice from the recent storm, which enhanced the difficulty of entry. But wait... so much more... the Temporary Check-in desk was empty at that time of night, and only about 40 cars were in the vast parking lot. Check-in was fine (we had used Hyatt and prepaid), but then the desk clerk announced a $20 self-park fee. I told her the parking was an icy mess, already nearly 11:15 PM, with the lot basically empty (which should have been my 1st major hint), and construction closure made it even worse for entrance/parking. They still wanted $20 in a suburban setting to self-park? Oh.. "I'll make it $10" said the desk person and then charged the full $20 to my credit card anyway. But we were given two vouchers for a "free cup" of coffee (self-serve) that was presented as a gracious perk. NO restaurant is available due to construction, just a little gift shop with a coffee stand in the back.We were initially assigned room #4803, but getting to the one operable elevator bank was down a long hallway of worn-out carpet, closed conference rooms, and then past sheets and sheets of tarps shielding the massive Atrium construction area. Upon arriving on the 4th floor, we ventured down four immensely long, dark, unattractive hallways (stopping 1/2 way to get our breath and laugh) and then found the #4803 door was open by 2 inches, obviously not locked. I never bothered to look inside, knowing it was unsecured and dozens of non-hotel people were working in this construction pit. Then we dragged suitcases again for the long trek back to the isolated temporary front desk to get a new room, this one closer to the elevator and locked. As we switched keys, I asked WHY we had been assigned the room so exceptionally far from the elevator and received the answer that she thought it would be quieter. (hmm, although dead quiet at 11 PM, that should have been my second clue about the construction size)The next 2nd-floor room was closer to the elevator and quiet. The bathroom was very dated, but the bed was good. We left at about 9:30 and then heard the massive construction going on inside the Atrium; luckily, the 2nd room was buffeted from that. Only then did I understand how many rooms in this expansive place were impacted by construction noise, which meant assigning rooms far away from the ONE working elevator bank. With our "free" lukewarm coffee in hand the next morning, I again walked the worn-out hallway needed to exit the building while my husband answered the front desk's inquiry, "How was your stay?" I never heard what he said, but this review does provide the details.Another recent reviewer advised managers to "CLOSE" this old hotel during these extensive renovations and wait for a return to glory. I second that suggestion and warn others to STAY AWAY-- for now – and definintely read recent reviews before booking rather than going by the Hyatt Regency name, which was my mistake.

Very rude at the reception. I was trying to book a room for my boss coming from oversees for the first time at this hotel, and they gave me such a hard time. Especially I confirmed that this is the first time booking myself and that the person was an existing client already. First of all, its rude to close the phone while I was trying to get the zip code. Second person, did not tried even to communicate …. I don’t know why by boss is going to stay there, but I will not consider this place and I will totally let everyone know how unpolite they are….

Was traveling alone and wanted to stay somewhere safe. I felt very safe here and the staff was amazing! This is a great hotel and I wish I could have enjoyed the amenities but was just there for the night. Great location for leisure, business, or just passing through.Rooms: The room was large and clean. The bed was soooo comfortable!Safety: I felt very safe here as a solo travelerFood & drinks: Ordered the charcuterie board and a salad and they were wonderful!Noteworthy details: The front desk staff were so helpful and nice! I wanted to mention how friendly your front desk person (A) was and how personable she was. Very great girl!

The location was great. Very close to bars, dining and shopping. The rooms were clean and spacious. The problem was that the hotel was under renovation and it wasn't disclosed during booking. The bar was closed and most sections also. Paid $20 daily parking didn't help.

THIEVES THIEVES BEWARE SEPT 23 I checked out of this hotel with what seem to be a great staff trying to help me find my iPods I could see they were in the hotel somewhere on find my but could not find them -as I was driving away to catch a plane the front desk called me and said please come back! One of our guests had them and they've been returned. We have them for you. I could not. I was going to catch a plane and they instructed me on how to set up left behind on Google. The lady on the phone talk to me through it told me she had it and then it would be in the mail that week.Once I got home and got settled, we had an extensive 12 day vacation to the East Coast about 1 October. I called back to make sure that they had been sent out that day. I was told they had another staff change and they would go down and make sure somewhere in housekeeping where there is some sort of lockbox that they were there -called me back to see that they were there and if they'd be in the mail.Situation in November was hey what's going on? -I have a gal on the phone that tells me she's brand new and that she is going to find out what the situation is. Never got the call back- call back to the front desk where a girl was extremely sweet and said she was terribly sorry, but that she was going to go down there herself and make sure that my iPods got put in the mail. .Now, this last week they have put up another new employee (are you following this?) fesheka or femsheka- I didn't write it down I'm not messing up the name to be rude.-I never kept the names before, because I believed this was a Hyatt of which I stay in all the time-but this time I got the phone call that there are no AirPods of mine anymore at this hotel. And now, three months later, she says to me with all the audacity in the world, she doesn't know that they ever had them -when it was the very front desk from the beginning, and two other employees who have them in their hands, told me how to get them sent to me, and this company failed me. They will fail you. Do not take anything worth any money. If you do, you were on your own because they will not give it back. The hotel was decent but as I can see from other reviews, they are going downhill fast . And they're thieves. And that is sad- I asked will you be replacing them- you literally called to have me come back to get them- -she said she didn't work there then and they would not be replacing the very iPods they have promised for months to return- SAVE YOURSELFWish I could do 0 startsNo one that works hard deserves to be stolen from- now the process to file a police report because I’m pulling out all the stops-

Atrium was like no other. Rooms were a bit dated and nothing special. Amazing breakfast buffet.

Was wow-ed by the atrium when I first reached the hotel, only to be disappointed by the room itself, as well as the service provided during my stay there.Room is extremely dated, my shower head was half dropping with a gaping hole at the wall where it was at, not to mention it being rusty. Same for the other facilities inside the room. Overall the room looks dull and dirty even though bed is clean and nice. Such a waste.Service was also a hit and miss. I had some laundries done during my stay, and every single time I have to get them from the front desk. Not once was it delivered to my room.House cleaning forgot to clean up my room once, and on a couple of other occasion they left my used towel on the toilet floor and did not provide a change in towel. Very inconsistent service provided.Honestly this felt a lot more like a 3 star hotel than a 4 star one. Quite disappointing especially with it bearing a Hyatt name.
