Highly recommend this place our waitress and other staff members are very attentive and friendly! The food is Delicious. Lobster Nachos and New England Chowder then Swordfish and Scrod Raspberry Tart.
Excellent views. Very good service. I had the salmon and it was moist and delicious. Second time here and I will be coming back.
It was actually funny what our salad looked like. I've been here in the past. & the food was good. Mayb it was what we ordered. Bok choy salad. Very weird. No dressing. 4 / 5 thinly sliced tuna. $20.
My two daughters and I went there for supper.one of them got the sirloin and said it was the best steak she had in a long time my other daughter had the lobster roll and it was the best so fresh and I got the turkey lot whichwas also good .we are planning to go back next month Great place Valerie petersen
The view of the river and marina is nice. A live band began playing while we are which made it even a nicer experience. Waitstaff are friendly, food is decent for the price and drinks were good.
I didn't have high hopes, but what a surprise ? The spicy seafood pasta was delicious! Perfectly cooked scallops, shrimps, calamari and mussels over pasta in spicy marinara. Wow! The views were nice, the music was nice and relaxing.
Great find! Awesome water views, boats, marina and the train bridge which opened 2ce while we were there. The food was very good. I had their signature dish of salmon and lobster and it was great. Draft selection was good and beer was cold. It was also very clean and plenty of parking across the street. Ask for Jacque - she was the best server!
The atmosphere was great! Unfortunately they were so crowded for lunch that we decided to eat inside. It was a better choice since all the people on the patio made me nervous. Service was slow due to the crowd. Our waiter was friendly and followed Covid guidelines. Limited menu if you are gluten free or doing keto. The food was worth the wait & I was full after the crabcake salad. Prices are high for lunch. Spent $88 for 4 people with no drinks & entrees only (1 was a kid's meal). I would recommend the Back Porch but only if you don't have time constraints.
Haven’t eaten in a restaurant since mid-March but we decided to break our “COVID - restaurant- fast” here because it was a nice night and we were visiting nearby Rocky Neck SP. Terrible decision. View is ok, service was attentive. But the food - terrible. Over-fried cauliflower bites, wings with plenty of meat but no real flavor, drippy scrod over spinach which only had any flavor at all due to the garlic and tomatoes, and my husband’s hamburger was like shoe leather it was so over cooked. He left half of it uneaten on the plate. If you’re going to risk getting COVID, this place IS NOT WORTH it.
The food was OK but the music, view and setting made our night. We drove up to meet our son who's working in New London. The Back Porch was easy to find, parking was easy and we enjoyed our evening.

Last day in the area, my wife and kids wanted to eat somewhere where they can see boats. Found this place on Google maps. At first look, the building could use some updating. It's a great spot with mega yacht Excellence V docked across the waterway. They should put some upkeep on the building, give it a new paint job, it's a gold mine. The wait of about 25 minutes was expected during these covid times. Our waitress was attentive. The adult drink Huckleberry lemonade was refreshing. For appetizer we ordered fried calamari which were delicious. The fried pepperoncinis were an added bonus. My picky eating daughter had grilled chicken and fries (note the grilled chicken had to be ordered as an added protein side to a main meal). She said it was good. My other daughter had the American burger which she said was really good. I had the BP burger which was very good as well. My wife had the tortellini with shrimp. It was delicious. In all it was a delicious last dinner meal to end our yearly summer vacation in the area.
Beautiful views. Service was very good. They were pretty busy but our waitress was very attentive. And social distancing and sanitation seemed good.We had the fried cauliflower app. It was very good. I had a Caesar salad with tuna. Tuna cooked perfectly. Salad itself was okay. My girlfriend had the steak salad. She really enjoyed it. Steak was tender. She forgot to ask for a temp. It came out well done. We will no better for the future.Overall very nice place to have a drink and a meal
Disappointing. The food and drinks were okay. As others have mentioned it’s a little pricey. They had music but when we got up to dance by the band we were told we couldn’t dance there but we could dance at our table. But If you danced at your table you were either blocking the aisle where you could trip someone or bothering patrons next to you. We weren’t offered desserts or another round of drinks because they were eager to shove us out the door. If that is how your restaurant is going to interpret Lamont’s executive orders then maybe you should not have music and should coach your staff on how to wear masks since we saw employees wearing them below their nose.
First entree had to be sent back. Swordfish was thin, dry and overcooked. Actually burnt around the edges. Not sure why it got sent out. Second entree the scrod was delicious. Service slow.
Ate dinner on the deck over the weekend. Nice view of the river and marina. Food was very good. I give it 4 stars because service was very slow. We enjoyed our meal and will return.
