“Myrcene is a hidden gem within Old Saybrook! We recently hosted a graduation party here with about 50 guests and it was the PERFECT spot to host a party. The owners are incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating. They kept all of their delicious beers, wines, ciders and seltzers flowing for our guests and allowed us to bring in our own food and desserts (this was a game changer for us when looking for a spot to host a party locally). From the time we set up to the time we cleaned up the owners offered to help and were always there to see if we needed anything. The inside space is perfect for a gathering, plus they have a wonderful outside space too for guests to sit and relax and play lawn games. I can’t recommend them enough for your next party or just for a local meet up with friends and family for a delicious drink!”

“We’ve been customers and FRIENDS since Dagmar opened. We try to go every Saturday for her scones. They are awesome! We’ve also had her stollen and several other tasty desserts. I recommend Dagmar’s to anyone who wants consistent excellence! Dagmar is always there to greet her customers with a warm smile and makes you feel like you’re an old friend. We give her 5 of 5 stars and hope you’ll visit there soon!”

“We were in the area last night- headed home from the casinos- and like to sing Karaoke. We stopped here and the people were so warm and welcoming. Also drinks were very reasonable. I’ll definately stop again next time I’m in the area. Only wish I lived closer. It’s a good atmosphere for any age group.,”

“The only Dunkin I will go to 1635 Boston post rd old saybrook. There is a girl who works there goes by the name of Katie/kate/Kaitlyn she has great customer skills. Always greets us with a smile. She makes us laugh. She is very nice. Always makes sure our order is right. Whatever you do give this girl a raise. It is so hard to find someone who has that much friendly customer service”

“Great for a warm September afternoon lunch by the Old Saybrook Marina. The à la carte menus is extensive, delicious, and portions generous. We shared the whole grilled Branzino. The dish was well seasoned, but the bold ingredients came through with delicacy. The fish was grilled to perfection. Service is excellent. The venue is a resort and the one negative was the messy state of the bathrooms. This restaurant is well worth a visit - even at the $60/head price tag including drinks à la carte (there is a brunch menu).”

“I went to have a quick bite with my husband last night and while we sat to eat, a man with no money walked in. The owner immediately walked over to him, greeted him with utmost respect, made him a footlong sandwich and meal, free of charge, and treated him in a way that made us both tear up and realize there are good people in this world who have a heart of gold. The owner is a couple who treats their customers like friends and family, but this action made me respect them 100 times more. God bless you. We come in from out of state once a month to visit our kids and always stop to eat here because of their warm customer service.”
