“I rarely take the time to write reviews, but The James Pharmacy in Old Saybrook is absolutely worth sharing.
I honestly can’t remember having a sandwich anywhere in Connecticut that comes close to the quality, generous portions, and incredible combinations they put together here. Everything tastes fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and just plain delicious.

And the pastrami… WOW. Hand-cut and made in-house, it is truly something special. It’s the kind of pastrami you keep thinking about after you’ve finished your sandwich!

But it’s not just sandwiches. They also have an amazing selection of provisions, including beautiful steaks and other quality products that make it easy to put together a fantastic dinner at home. Oh, and their house-made ice cream is great too!

At this point, The James Pharmacy has become my go-to spot for dinner — I’m there at least three times a week! That says everything about how much I enjoy this place.

If you haven’t been yet, do yourself a favor and stop in. Whether you’re grabbing a sandwich, picking up provisions for dinner, or looking for something special, this shop is a gem. Highly, highly recommended!“

“My favorite shop on Main Street. Soft serve Flavors are delicious and they rotate them so always something new to try. Always a tough decision on toppings because so many to choose from. And if I only want a small serving that’s all I can get. I control my serving size. Totally love their quality soft serve, the cleanliness of the shop and the fabulous staff.“

“I've been going to this dairy queen for more than 40 years and I still think its one of the best in the network. It the tipefecation of what an ice cream store should be like, from fun summer crowds to solid customer service a great example is that we roll in at 8:59 place 7 complex orders and the two guys behind the counter didn't bat an eye. They got the job done with fun humor and a smile. Thank you to the team that has made this dairy queen location the highlight of my childhood, as well as my children's childhood. This is where yummy and happy memories are made, that last a lifetime!“
