Lovely night celebrating a birthday! Attentive server and waitstaff. Wonderful water views. Apps - fresh shucked clams tasty salads. Main dishes delicious -nice presentation. Try the Coleman chicken -it's was tops. Fish specials are always special. Desserts choices are abundant. This is great local restaurant on the Connecticut river. Not to be missed -they serve breakfast lunch and dinner. Outdoor seating in good weather. Check out their website. 5 stars from my table!!

I started with the Brunch menu and ate my way from breakfast to lunch. I began with a custom-made to-order omelet. I included fruit on my Belgian waffle. Then the pasta station with salad selections and shrimp cocktail. The hand-carved roast beef with horseradish sauce, ham with spicy mustard, rosemary roasted potatoes, and pistachio-crusted chicken were tasty. I ended with rice pudding and a chocolate cookie. The food choices were fresh numerous and delectable. My friend had the gnocchi dish and enjoyed her meal with a mojito. My other friend had the eggplant panini sandwich and was satisfied with her choice of a glass of Pinot Grigio. I was the designated driver and had Diet water.

I love the regular menu. Food was fabulous. I had the beat salad and the salmon dish..it was perfect. Im not crazy about buffetts in general. I like to sit and relax and not go back and forth for food. I also prefer appearance of food when brought to the table. My husband had the Sunday breakfast. The price has gone up. We feel the buffett is over priced & should be more in the $45. Price range. But some people are wasteful & probably have to consider that in the pricing. He said he would just order from the menu. But it's nice to have options & I'm sure some may prefer the buffett. We love going there ultimately!!!

Food was amazing and worth coming back for. Service on the other hand was very poor. Older Waitress looked miserable and treated us the same. For every one time she came by, table next to us with younger waiter was checked on 3 times minimum. Really wish this place would refresh the staff serving the patrons.

We loved our meal and were so happy that we were able to have Jeff as our server. It is refreshing to hear an employee speak so highly of Saybrook Point Inn . He is fantastic and our friends who had joined us were equally impressed with not only the delicious food, but with how outstanding Jeff was. Can't wait to go back.

Great food and view. Unfortunately a large table with out of control kids were near us the whole time. Mother simply kept putting a finger over her mouth as signal that the kids ignored. Not much the restaurant could do. Our waiter, while we liked him, seemed to very stretched running around in a sweat. Therefore took a bit longer to get wine delivered. Overall great restaurant.

Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and prepared and served to our liking! our dining experience and the service was professional and friendly - highly recommend this restaurant - looking forward to Easter Brunch!! Thank you

Jeff was our server. He was excellent!! He had served us before at Choo Choo Lounge and we were so happy to have him at Fresh Salt. He's attentive. He listens. He's tastefully entertaining. He made our experience extremely special and we have been there many times before. Can't wait to go back.

I love good restaurants and get especially excited to try ones that friends mention personally, as well as those along the shoreline. We had gone to the Griswald Museum and even though it was early (4:30) we thought, we are so close, it's Friday, let's have a drink and then dinner at Fresh Salt. The restaurant is very nice, on the water and in a sweet little hotel. It was immaculate and clean. I didn't know the area so it was a nice surprise. Greeting by hostesses A+ Seated quickly, excellent friendly professional and joyous waitress A+ The bar area was filling and it's an attractive bar. Drinks were good- Aperol spritz and a pomegranate spritz, also good. Tad bit of extra ice but I know these are served in larger wine glasses and that's the style. But after having a few that -yes, went down quickly, it's clear the ice was about 50% of the liquid from the remains. Ok well, I like ice and I like cold and they were good but at 16.00 each I could use just a tad less ice and maybe even a garnish that sets it apart from other restaurants. Calamari- fresh, tender, not overcooked, not dripping with oil, hot, flavorful and served with 2 sauces since we couldn't decide. Excellent and probably one of the best I've had in a long time. Ok, liking this place! Then dinner came. 50.00 for the 14 oz streak was a bit higher but I went for it. It was delicious, the kitchen even sliced it for me at my request since I don't have use of my left hand. However, my guest immediately said what I thought; this did not look like 14 oz. It is what it is, was delicious but I'd never order that again because I don't think it was 14 oz. The bigger problem was that the sea bass or local bass special smelled fishy. Raw or cooked, fresh seafood shouldn't smell and it was a turn off. My guest ate it because he's easier than I am but between the two of us it just felt disappointing. desserts, good, our waitress made it an enjoyable experience but unfortunately not the total one. C+

The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I had the pan seared sea scallops on lobster risotto. The risotto had big hunks of lobster - delicious! Would definitely go back again.

Consistent food and service. Have been there many times always ordered the tuna triangles and calamari. I had the artic char for the main course which comes in a curry source. I asked if they could do it without the source, they gave me several options. I had the fish on mash potatoes, very accommodating. All the desserts are good so if you have room go for it. Prices are slightly above their competitors, but worth it. NP

The service was top notch! Menu selections were varied. Had the scallops recommended by our server and were some of the best I've ever had. Lovely wine list. Table request was furnished with pleasure. We cannot wait to come back.

I have always loved this restaurant. Great views, wonderful, warm decor, excellent service and very very good New England Cuisine. Our most recent dinner had excellent salad, and our earlier stop at the bar offered great clams on the half shell and fabulous new england clam chowder. However, the rib eye steak we ordered for dinner was rather fatty. Perhaps it is a characteristic of this cut, but it had a lot of fat throughout which surprised me as it reduced substantially the amount of actual meat. Other than that the meal was excellent including the pears for dessert, but since the rib eye was the main course and rather costly, this was the reason for the four stars.

Our meals were fantastic, the view beautiful and the ambience very nice. Our waiter was great, one in our party had a specific dietary need, so the waiter made a few trips back to the chef to inquire. Found a dish that worked for him.

The best lobster roll and hand-cut fries in CT. The toasted brioche is jam packed with tender lightly buttered lobster. My wife is vegan. We both started with small field green salads and added-on 1/2 an avocado which we shared. Her entree was sautéed spinach and fries. Fresh Salt is our go to restaurant on the shoreline.
