This was our first time here and we could not have been more pleased to find such a great local restaurant. The food and service were excellent.

This was the first time that my husband and I came to La Marea. We wanted to try a new Italian restaurant that we've never been to to celebrate my husband's birthday. The ambience in the restaurant is so cozy and felt like home. The waitress greeted us immediately and was available anytime we needed her. She was very accommodating, explained everything to us and was very kind. Everyone there worked as a team helping each other bring things to your table, anywhere from drinks to food to dessert, etc. The owners Juliana and Nino are very pleasant to talk to. They make a point to greet all their guests with a warm Italian greeting... Just like family ( la famiglia 💞) I come from an Italian family and I felt so at home here. The food was outstanding! The meatballs tasted just like the way my father use to make them. It made me very emotional and almost brought me to tears because he has passed away. Same with the rabbit. It reminded me a lot of of my grandmother. The pasta is homemade and cooked perfectly to al dente. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back again! I highly recommend you try this restaurant if you haven't already. You won't be disappointed! Buon appetito!

La Marea never disappoints . . . excellent food options and attentive service. All the pasta dishes are great . . . very tasty.

It makes you feel like you're with family. Staff address by name, attentive without hovering. 14oz steak cooked to perfection and their wood fired pizza is the best I've ever had. Seriously. Everything from the Parmesan truffle fries to the crème brûlée was perfect.

We had a wonderful dinner celebrating our friend's birthday. Julianna was extremely helpful in making sure everything was perfect. The service and food was exceptional as always. A great place to bring family and friends. Thank you La Marea!

This is our go-to spot in the Lower CT River Valley/Shoreline area. Consistently top-notch food and service in a room with a sophisticated vibe. Tip: Snag a high-top in the buzzy bar area instead of the more staid and unremarkable main dining room.

Delicious food, great service, warm family atmosphere! They make an outstanding gluten free pizza...I share it with my husband as an appetizer sometimes.

Very loud in the dining room, food was mediocre at best. May try again in the future yet based on this experience cannot recommend this restaurant .

Food was excellent, service on target, music volume just right, owner engaged. What more could you ask for? Delightful evening.

We were in Saybrook for the weekend. This was by far our best meal!! Just delicious!! It was our 3rd time there and we can't wait to go back.

Three of us went there for pizza, the best in the region if you like thin, crispy crust. It's a great restaurant and the owner is a chef with strong Italian roots. The menu is small, which we like, because everything is made to order. Quality is very dependable from one time to the next. I had one of the best pastas ever there, just a simple summer squash dish of four ingredients, every one identifiable. It was perfection on a plate.

There was a time when La Marea was heads and shoulders above the rest of the restaurants in the area. Now is not that time. The food was good but there was no 'Wow' factor that corresponds to the price and the aura that emanates from the restaurant. The service provided was excellent and consistent. The server clearly knew that menu, which was a plus. Would I go back? Yes, but it is not at the top of my list. La Marea is now just a good restaurant, which I would go to once a year.

We were pleased with the pasta dishes . Octopus was very chewy (old). Service ok but not great
Not worth the price

We had a lovely evening. Our server was gracious and helpful. Food was delicious. Noise level made it a bit difficult to hear our table mates but it was a Friday night in August so to be expected.

Great place for a delicious and quiet lunch with friends. Food was extraordinarily fresh. My friend commented that it was the best sandwich he has ever had. Says a lot! We will be coming back.
