Drive over an hour to get here. 2pm, lights off, fires closed, one leads to the kitchen, one leads to the bathroom, nobody there when it says open. Never thought there or rather trying to again.

Grab your takeout and drive down the street and sit and watch the boats on the CT River! Great chowder and lobster rolls. Grilled cheese is a favorite too.

The prices may be a bit steep, but they do have the best hot buttered lobster rolls in Connecticut. Keep in mind it is a small place and there is limited outdoor seating only.

Great food! I am a fish taco snob. My sister loves lobster rolls Liv's way, hot and bathing in butter. We headed down to try Livs Shack on Labor Day! It was amazing! Students had returned to college, so they were admittedly understaffed. This was their last day of the season, and they gave you a fair warning that there would be a wait. You expected that they wouldn't be at the top of their game. You would be incorrect. This food was amazing! These Mahi Mahi fish tacos are fantastic. The lobster roll was perfection. Can't wait to visit in 2024! Job well done!

I loved Liv's shack! Located right near the Saybrook Point Inn, this really gives a laid back, beachy feel. The service was fast, the employees were friendly, and the food was fresh and delicious. We both got the shrimp roll, mine was seasoned with Old Bay and my mom's with Cajun seasoning. And the fries were hot and crispy! Outdoor seating only, full of picnic tables with a view of the marina across the parking lot

Just spent a week in Rhode Island trying various seafood/lobster spots and Liv's was the best one I had all week.A must-stop destination.Old Bay fries were insanely good too.

This review is long overdue as it was from our mini vacation in June. From what I remember, the wait was long, but the food was excellent. If memory serves us correctly, we ordered grilled cheese sandwiches and coleslaw. Huge portions, delicious and satisfying. Would definitely recommend and would stop by again and try a lobster roll when in Old Saybrook.

I absolutely love livs shack . One of my favorite places to eat during the week after a hard day of work. My favorite item on the menu is the shrimp tacos and of course the cheese curds!!! a good friend of mine is absolutely obsessed with the lobster roll. The service is wonderful they always are very attentive and on point. When you arrive, you order your food outside and there is a beautiful place outback where you can sit at a covered picnic table, and your food is served by the lovely ladies and gentlemen who work inside . I have never had any problems with the service here and I'm looking forward to eating here next summer! Definitely recommend.

There isn't enough seating or parking for that matter. You wait an extremely long time for your food but, with that being said, the food was amazing. Would I go back again, possibly but not likely. The cost is higher than a lot of their competitors which ultimately sways my decision to return or not. Great food though! If you have the money and time, I highly recommend them!Kid-friendliness: There are toys to keep kids occupied, however with that being said when it is super crowded and the kids are up running and playing, it makes for some not so peaceful dining. Kids will be kids though. No harm, no foul!

This is such a cute lil spot in old saybrook near the water. The outdoor seating offers fun board games. The lobster roll was 10/10 the only thing missing was a lemon on the side. The truffle parm fries were an 11/10. The lemonade was also an 11/10. Such a nice summer spot for lunch or early dinner! Free parking is offered. This place is alittle pricey for 3 people our bill was over $100. A lobster roll is almost $30. Definitely recommend the lobster roll though! Will be back again soon!
