This was a wonderful dining experience from the moment we were greeted warm laid by staff at the front desk to the helpful suggestions that our server, Caleb, made to guide our choices. We thoroughly enjoyed the muscles that we ordered. They were in a delicate wine sauce. We shared fettuccine Alfredo, which was divided in the kitchen. Again, the portion was more than ample and a large doggy bag accompanied us home. They were able to accommodate my order for an espresso martini made with decaf espresso. The ambience was warm and cozy. We enjoyed a booth which makes for a more intimate dining experience. We will return!

If you're looking for really good Italian food this is the place to go. One of the best in Connecticut family owned. Luigi's is a true gem.
Service was excellent! Very friendly and very quick and responsive! Salads and appetizers were excellent! All the dinners were excellent except the pasta bolognese! Pasta was over cooked and too soft! Us Italians like our pasta el dente! Too much sauce for my taste! Did not like the cream sauce on top! Outside of that, it was nice and I would definitely go back!
Date night at Luigi's in Old Saybrook with my girlfriend Kristen, was perfect from start to finish. We were greeted with warm, delicious bread right away, which set the mood. I started with the Bleu Iceberg and then had the Chicken Leonardo tender chicken with hot cherry peppers, sweet red peppers, garlic, and baby spinach over angel hair pasta. I also ordered a side of meatballs which were close to how my grandmother made them. Everything was flavorful and comforting. Coffee and the homemade chocolate caramel cake were the perfect sweet ending. Kristen had the Broiled New England Cod, which was fresh and perfectly cooked, topped with Italian breadcrumbs and a light white wine butter. It came with penne marinara. She also ordered the broccoli sautéed in garlic and EVOO, simple, fresh, and delicious. Great food, cozy vibes, and a lovely spot for a romantic night out. We'll definitely be back ❤️🍝
Best Italian food around ! Sauce is amazing we had it the other night with our chicken parm - staff on point - drinks great - we've been there a million times and anything on the menu is a 10 !
It's a wonderful little Italian restaurant with great good and a charming atmosphere. The staff are also very well mannered, I don't see this very often anymore. It does seem like they're trying to keep this little time capsule of earlier years alive with everything about it, and I love it.

My wife & I went here for dinner before a show at The Kate Arts Center. The food was delicious. We both took home the leftovers for another meal. The service was great. And my wife had a glass of the house moscato wine. She said it was the best moscato she has ever had. The entire staff from the manager to everyone else were excellent. Everything ran so smoothly. We were very impressed with everything. If we are back in Old Saybrook, we know where we will be eating out.

Old school Italian. The Luigi Speciale salad is full of Italian cold cuts. The pizza crust has a delicious semolina dusting on the bottom and the clams casino pie is outstanding. The meatballs are wonderful and the service and staff are like family.
