Myrcene is a hidden gem within Old Saybrook! We recently hosted a graduation party here with about 50 guests and it was the PERFECT spot to host a party. The owners are incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating. They kept all of their delicious beers, wines, ciders and seltzers flowing for our guests and allowed us to bring in our own food and desserts (this was a game changer for us when looking for a spot to host a party locally). From the time we set up to the time we cleaned up the owners offered to help and were always there to see if we needed anything. The inside space is perfect for a gathering, plus they have a wonderful outside space too for guests to sit and relax and play lawn games. I can’t recommend them enough for your next party or just for a local meet up with friends and family for a delicious drink!
Hanging out on mother's day 2025 was a great experience
Great little Brewery. Solid beers. Female owned. Friendly patrons.
Best beers in town
Excellent beer, friendly atmosphere and staff
My wife and I recently visited Myrcene Ale and we were amazed at the wonderful varieties and sensational flavors of their beer! We strongly and enthusiastically recommend everyone to visit this terrific facility and sample their selections! We are looking forward to returning!
Fun, micro brewery! Must try the “Nowhere To Be” Cold India, pale ale. 🍺
Please go see them, awesome beer amazing people.
Not a bad brewery with a good selection of beers. It occupies one big indoor space with no separation, plus a patio is available as well.
The star of the show are the beers on tap. There is a good variety of them. I've tried every single one for this review and although there were beers which I enjoyed less, all of them were pretty solid. I would recommend their stout (Midnight Waves) and saison (Oh Peaches) as they are full of taste expected from these styles. You can order beer flights here. No food is available except some snacks.
There are several stacks of boardgames available for use. The interior of the building might need small repairs. I also docked a star due to inaccurate description of events available. We went to the brewery because the food truck was planned to be there as stated on their website, but it was not. And inside, a poster mentioned a concert for the same day, which did not happen either. The owner works at the bar and he is very friendly.
I absolutely love this place. It's a cool place to hang and chill and catch up.

Not a big selection of sours or cider. But they have a variety of beers and it has a very chill atmosphere. We sat outside with our snacks and had a great time. We will definitely be back.
Awesome brewpub
A great selection of Myrcene-brewed beers and also cider, hard seltzer, and wine for the gluten-free and non-beer drinkers. Great staff and a large space! They host frequent events so there is always something going on. Follow the signs to find it in the same building as the CrossFit gym.
We recently hosted our wedding at the Saybrook Point Resort. While planning the weekend, we were having trouble finding a spot in Old Saybrook to host a casual welcome event for the ~50 guests arriving in town the night before the wedding. We eventually discovered Myrcene Ale Co, which turned out to be the perfect spot.
The owners, Lindsey and Mike, were very kind and flexible as we organized the event. The event itself was just what we wanted it to be. About 50 guests dropped in to say hi, have a drink, and kickoff the weekend. We catered in sandwiches and salads from nearby Walt’s Market. Everyone loved the beer, the food, the games, and the fun yet laid back atmosphere.
A big thanks to Lindsey and Mike for hosting all of us as we kicked off an awesome wedding weekend in Old Saybrook!
Love the beer and staff
