I went in for a specific cake on the menu. They didn’t have it. I chose another and they didn’t have that either but the woman said to come back in a few hours and they would make it. I did but believe there must have been missing ingredients. The cake was flavorless and horrible to the point our company we had over also commented on it. Not one person ate the cake.

Beautiful space with amazing top notch customer service. The bakery was spotless with a cute array of beautiful baked goods. Definitely warm and inviting space. I stopped in on a whim passing by for the first time.

Sadly I was not a fan of my cupcake. The frosting was bland as was the cake itself- and the cake part was super dry. Overall not an enjoyable pastry for me. I enjoyed my baguette I bought - I do wish there was a note( or if I missed the note something on the packaging itself) that the whole baguette was topped with quite a lot of salt flakes. I just brushed it off and it was a very yummy bread.

We hired Pursuit of Pastry as one of the dessert caterers for our wedding on Friday, May 17th, 2024. Having previously lived in Old Saybrook, we frequently visited Pursuit of Pastry, so we were especially delighted to hire them to create our wedding cakes. The pricing was quite reasonable, and we enjoyed the wide array of options available to us. Prior to ordering, we enjoyed a tasting on-site and reviewed photo examples of their work. We ordered the following: 6” chocolate tiered wedding cake filled with chocolate buttercream, 8” lemon tiered wedding cake with curd filling, and two ½ sheet Funfetti kitchen cakes. The exterior of the tiered wedding cake was covered with vanilla buttercream icing with an ombre royal blue to white and paint deco gold. We supplied two glass Beauty and the Beast themed toppers. We were quite pleased with our cakes, and everyone enjoyed a piece or two. Pursuit of Pastry was the perfect choice for our wedding, and we will certainly use them again for future events.

Just wondering if you are a true bakery why you can't take requests for special flavors? Especially now, fall, can't make pumpkin or apple?

PoP did a fantastic job on baby shower cookies. They were easy to work with, and the cookies came out beautiful and delicious. Would highly recommend and order from them again!

All good things roofing management

Really impressed with the quality of treats and service. It would be really cool if they had a gluten-free section where they highlighted and made very clear. What’s gluten-free and what’s not and if they don’t have any, it’ll be really cool if they can make some I didn’t see any when I was in there. Lots of great stuff for people that eat gluten ended up getting a friend of mine a lot of pastries she loves the place.

I bought cupcakes and cookies for a party. They were the star of the show. So beautiful and so yummy. I am thrilled I stumbled upon this must go destination. Worth the trip. SO good.

I ordered a funfetti cake for a party for three grads and one birthday — the cake was such a hit, they even managed to fit all of the names on the cake! The girl who helped me at the store was so personable and charming, and the store itself was super cute (and smelled amazing). We also got baguettes and the whipped honey butter, as well as iced coffees (likely our new spot for iced coffees)

Good service ! And the store is very cute. Also had many things to buy besides cupcakes. Small little storefront with a bakery. The cupcakes were good just a lot very heavy! They come cold so you have a wait a few minutes before having it (at least that’s what the lady told us). Very expensive though so just a heads up on that too.
