FROM DOGHOUSE TO HERO!I booked a last minute wedding shower cake for my fiancée. They initially said they were full, but sensing the desperation in my voice, they took it on and CRUSHED it. The cappuccino cake was delicious!It was the hit of the shower. Countless people came up to me asking where I ordered the cake from. I must have heard on repeat, 'I'm not even a cake person but that cake was incredible!' Cake was moist and flavorful. The chocolate chips were a pleasant surprise.I've ordered cakes from other area bakeries, and this place tops them all!Thank you for keeping me out of the doghouse, Mangiafico's!

Sal is a local treasure for Italian cannolis and other baked goods. Though he is retiring and turning over his shop to another well-known Italian bakery Nonni's from Southington, Connecticut, The town of Plainville is in good hands with Nella Lastrina the new owner in training. She is learning all of Sal"s great Italian dessert recipes. Best wishes, Nella! And Happy retirement Sal! Plainville loves you!

I went here because I wanted to bring cupcakes to a sick friend. There were none in the case. It was last Christmas and I was hoping for some pretty decorations. The woman acted like cupcakes were beneath her. She said there were some in the back. I asked to see them and again she acted like I was asking for something inappropriate. I asked if they could be decorated and she snickered. She put sugar on them. They were not even good and honestly I would have walked out if we were not in a hurry. We were also the only people there. I can see why and we won’t go back.

This the THE place for good Italian cookies! I was in today and bought 4 diferent type - they are better than my Italian grandmothers cookies! I HIGHLY recommend Mangiaficos and I WILL be back!! And the bonus - the owner is so friendly!

Yes! Italian cookies that are fresh, crisp, and delicious! This one is a must stop. Next time I’m trying a slice of one of their many cake offerings.The staff was very friendly and helpful as I picked out one cookie from each that I wanted to try.

Again this year, I purchased my birthday rum cake from Mangiafico’s. I was a little disappointed that the rum flavor was not as pronounced as it appeared to be in the past but with one phone call to Sal, I was assured that his recipe had not changed and that he would make sure my next cake tasted just the way I remembered! Where else can a customer have a problem, talk to the owner and be reassured that it would be corrected…. only at Mangiafico’s! I’m 75 and obviously my taste buds can play tricks on me but it didn’t discourage me from enjoying the cake. See for yourself! Mangiafico’s, still the best bakery for me!?
