This place is awesome! Great fresh beer brewed in house. So much space for private events, great food and amazing service. Highly recommend
They like dogs, that's already perfect.
Then they brought a bucket of water for my pup.
Drunks are amazing.
I decided to change my review to 5stars after i first did 4.
1 because they took the time to respond to my review and secondly they were right and i understand where a small business is coming from, where tobhave a salad on the menu but few people purchasing it wouldn't afford them the opportunity to have a great fresh salad and not lose money.
But service, friendliness, not sure of the name if the waitress but I'd give her 5 stars.
These folks are doing amazing things with beer! Highly recommended!
We had my son's rehersal dinner at Bear Hands and it was perfect! The lower room with its speakeasy vibe was the perfect setting. Kayla was so easy to work with and made sure no detail was missed! While we had the main course catered in we did order appetizers from Bear Hands and it was by far the best part! The jalapeño deviled eggs and pretzel bites and beer cheese were so good! I highly recommend calling Kayla for your next event!
Pretentious beyond belief. No waitress to be found after meet and greet. $15 for 8 teeny tiny wings. $80 total for two people. Is this Putnam or a big city?
There IPAs are very good with a nice outdoor setup
We stopped mid day and got a flight. The beer is amazing. We had a stout that I wish I could remember the name of because I'd definitely recommend it. So good!! The music was a plus too. Cute little place. They have outdoor seating too.
We are spoiled, having Bear Hands in our community. Tap lines always clean, beer always fresh, bathrooms always clean, staff always works class.
This review is a part of my quest of visiting all CT breweries. I never heard about Bear Hands Brewery before, so this was my first visit.
There's plenty of parking space near the brewery. The brewery consists of small patio, a small room on the ground floor and a huge room in the basement. They went for a bear theme which I loved, as the space is decorated with bear pictures, carvings, metal decor pieces and etc. The food menu is there, albeit limited. We ordered a flatbread and garlic bread. Both were fresh and tasty, we finished the food quickly. There's a full bar available, we tried Sangria and it was OK.
I try as many beers as I can at every brewery. Luckily, here you can order a beer flight of 4. For this review I tried all beers available on tap. There's a good variety of styles brewed here : stout, gose, sour, IPA, Irish red and so on. All of them were awesome. I don't like gose (Strawberry Shortcake) or sours (Leftovers are for Quitters), but these beers had a rich taste and complex aftertaste.
I don't have a single complaint about my visit. I really recommend this place for any craft beer enthusiast around, it does worth a separate trip.
A huge shout out to Kayla and Justin! I had my birthday party in the downstairs lounge last weekend and they went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. Many guests had never visited Bear Hands before, and a great time was had by all. Thank you for your helpfulness, while providing a fun environment for my special occasion!

Stopped in for a quick bite and drink while antiquing. They have a small food menu of shareable bites and quite the beer list. Small place, downstairs lounge, great place for meeting up with friends. Will definitely be back when in the area.
We were disappointed that they don't have the full food menu any more. I loved the Beer Braised Brat...but I get it, if you don't change with the times, you won't survive. The beer is still great, the service is still great. The flat bread pizza is great also! Still love the place!
Nice stop with many styles of beer available.
Had my wedding rehearsal party here. They did a wonderful job and were so accommodating. Loved the food and drinks, couldn’t recommend this place more.
We had my grandaughter Luca’s first Birthday party at Bear Hands, what a great experience and job the owner Kayla and all her staff provided!
Great food , service and atmosphere! Top Notch! Thank you Kayla and staff!!!
