Bbq meats were quite good. Service was friendly and efficient. Sides were pretty good also - collard greens were too salty though. Cornbread was tasty although small. Sauces were awful - vinegary and all tasted alike.
We have been here a few times and ordered take away once. The food is decent and the service is friendly. They have really solid specials and the fried pickles are delicious. We normally sit at table, however this time we sat at a booth. The table in the booth had vintage images on it and much to my dismay one was dixie flag themed boldly in the corner. We got up and switched booths. Even if the owners are fine with that display, many people are offended. I pick my values over bbq and won’t be back.
I grabbed lunch here today with a buddy. Very cool place with both indoor and outdoor seating. I went with the half chicken with side salad and collard greens. Chicken was perfect. Good greens too, very tender and tasty. Good service as well. I used to go to Dino BBQ in Stamford. The Wire Mill’s BBQ is superior. Keep smoking fellas!
Very much enjoyed our first visit to Wire Mill - it will not be our last! Parking is available at and also just up the road from the restaurant. Both indoor and outdoor dining - about 10 tables (with umbrellas) on the patio. The menu includes what you expect at a BBQ joint - the usual slow cooked meats, sides, and bar beverage selection. We tried the pulled pork and pulled chicken - both were moist and tasty. There are 3 BBQ sauces on each table - regular, honey, and chipotle. Beans were sweet; slaw was creamy and crunchy. Cornbread was good (not great). Service was excellent - friendly folks run this place. Prices were as anticipated. Very casual. Overall, a very pleasant experience.
Went last night for the family #2 meal, a ton of food, and 4lbs of brisket on the side for 13 people. Great ribs, chicken, pulled pork, collard greens, baked beans, and corn bread. Must have been an off night for the brisket, which was thick, dry, had to be cut with a knife, and chewy. Very nice staff and fast service.
I love BBQ ribs and Wiremill has the best I have found in Connecticut in my 20 years of living here. Their Baby backs are out of this word and their Beef ribs, which was a special one night were amazing. Great casual atmosphere and great service too,
This place has not only an delicious food but also a amazing environment. Come to stay outside! All the smoked meats are excellent but the sides stand out! The okra and the fries are my favorite!
Very talented and professional staff. Great for either young or professional soloists.
Such a welcoming, warm and wonderful place for kids to grow their performing skills and confidence.

such a great atmosphere I Love taking lessons here!
After a 3 week Road Trip of New York State, Vermont and Connecticut we were driving back to JFK for our flight back to you and noticed and smelt the great somas from Wiremill so just had to stop. This was the best meal of our trip but we were pressed for time so had to rush somewhat but we did take some with us to eat later. I had the shredded ribs in a wrap with homemade chips and coleslaw and my husband had the sliced brisket beef. Both were amazing. The service was prompt and very friendly. A shame we could not have stayed longer but we had to return our hire car and were running late. Recommend 100%. Go there!!
We ate last year at the Wire Mill and the ribs were OK. The outside patio and a musician playing were first rate. We got around to going back and it is much better! This does not happen very often with restaurants but enjoy it if you can. The patio and musician are still great. The staff seems a little more skilled and confident and the ribs took a step function in improvement. There is a real grill master at work. Everyone talks about bark and smoke ring with ribs and they are important but I judge them by smoky flavor and moistness of the meat. These ribs were outstanding. So smoky you could smell them across the table, bright red smoke ring and so tender and moist I could not stop eating. The sweet potato fries and cold slaw were first rate too.
This is a small restaurant but very busy. The dinner we had was delicious and the service very good. If you like BBQ this is the place to go.
