“Hands down the BEST vegan and GF cakes anywhere in the area. It’s no easy task getting this right and wow, just wow. The specialty birthday cake was out of this world and the cupcakes were phenomenal. This is our new go-to.Vegan GF sandwiches are outstanding, staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and we always walk away with a gift for someone from their little shop. This is a real gem! My only criticism is that the shop is a little tucked away so not enough people know where to find it.”
“Stopped in for lunch with a friend and was very impressed. My burger was excellent and the fries were just right. We talked with the owner for a good half hour and he bought us a round. Top tier establishment.”
“Such a great place very happy vibes and ice cream is wonderful. Just brought the family for a quick snack after dinner and we were all very happy and entertained with the flavors”
“Fun to sit outside in the good weather, and so nice to have decent bbq in the area! The place is always hopping and deservedly so. Make sure you go hungry as it can be a lot of food, which is a good thing.”
“Pignone's Redding Ridge Market and Deli is a general store and delicatessen that opened in Redding, Connecticut in 1835. The historical establishment has passed through several owners over nearly 200 years. From 1952 - 2009 it was owned by the Bethel-based Caraluzzi's Supermarket chain. An electrical fire shut down the establishment in 2009 and it stayed dormant until 2011 when it was purchased and reinvigorated by Jordan Wright. He sadly passed away from bone cancer in 2016. Since 2017 it has been owned by Nicholas Pignone. Aside from their grocery sales, the market prepares fresh meals everyday. The deli (which carries Boar's Head products) produces a wide array of sandwiches, wraps, burgers, salads, tacos, breakfast items, baked goods and ice cream treats. My family and I recently stopped at Redding Ridge while we were visiting friends in Redding. When lunchtime approached, our friends recommended getting takeout from the deli as it was just down the street. Walking inside Redding Ridge was like going back in time. Old-fashioned general store/delicatessens like this are a dying breed. The place seemed to be a favorite hangout for locals. A customer could get prepared food to go, but they could also go grocery shopping here. Some of their prepared foods looked excellent. After looking over the menu, my wife and I decided to order and share the "Helen Keller" (chicken salad, bacon, Vermont cheddar, oil & vinegar, lettuce, tomato, onions on a sub roll) and the "Coach Morros" (grilled chicken, bacon, cheddar, sun dried tomato mayo, lettuce, tomato, onions on oven-baked Italian bread). Both sandwiches were excellent; great bread and really fresh-tasting ingredients. We would definitely order sandwiches or other prepared foods from here again!”
“Bbq meats were quite good. Service was friendly and efficient. Sides were pretty good also - collard greens were too salty though. Cornbread was tasty although small. Sauces were awful - vinegary and all tasted alike.”
“Really awesome place. The vibe was great--inside was really nice with the fireplaces and the staff was very friendly/attentive. Food was also great and it's kid friendly as well. Will definitely become a staple.”
“This place has a nice pub vibe. Plenty of families. Lighting was dim. We all ordered pizzas and they were decent. Server was helpful with questions and suggestions.Parking: Parking lot is very small with limited parking so just be awareKid-friendliness: Many tables with different ages of children.”
“Recently I was invited to a graduation party at this place. The atmosphere was really pleasant to the entire group. The food serve was delicious. The entry was a cesar salad with ward breads. The meal were chicken, penne with vodka sauce, vegetable, Potatoes. Everything was good :). The dessert was a special ice cream with granola, in a ward apple pie. The bar was on point. The people were well prepared. The bartender was really nice and very attentive.”
“This place has a nice warm feeling to it. The staff is super friendly and the owner is very engaging and always jokes with the customers. They feature authentic Mexican food and all the Americanized favorites as well. I have been here several times, the most recess a week ago for a family dinner with my in-laws. The pollo loco was delicious (I only with there was more of it for the price. Will be back and would recommend this place.”
“Great non Italian dishes, great staff, good drinks, not stingy with the booze they use in their cocktails and nice atmosphere, especially their outdoor seating under the tent”
“Wow. We were both very impressed. We got there as soon as they opened since we were in a hurry. We didn't wait long to be seated, and the service was quick. Now, we're no strangers to Indian food. My girlfriend often gets some Uber Eats deal (though I don't, despite being an Uber One member -- go figure) and we usually use it on one of the other two Indian places nearby. There's something about that spicy, spicey, fragrant cuisine that we can't get enough of. Bar Naan might be the best yet. Service started with tap water in a bottle, and the menu is a mix of traditional dishes and fusion items like a lamb burger and loaded masala fries. We ordered the traditional items -- it's a great way to compare places -- and it did not disappoint. The paneer curry had a wonderful flavor, and when I said "spicy", they did alright. My girlfriend's chicken tikka masala wasn't bad, either. We did get a little fusiony with the chili cheese naan, which was more like a quesadilla. Everything was probably the best I've had around here. Portions can vary wildly, but we both left full after having our entrees, a naan, and an appetizer. We'll be back. We'll order delivery if they support that. I think we found a new favorite.”
“If you've visited & enjoyed the extraordinary culinary delights of India then you know how difficult it is to get a meal with the subtly and range of Indian food in Connecticut. That problem has been solved for my wife and I with our recent dinner at Taste of Everest. This mom & pop six table restaurant left us both satisfied and looking forward to our next visit. We began with the Saffron Butter Garlic Crab which was a perfect beginning with a serving of naan. The vegetable steamed momo (dumplings) came with a variety of sauce dips including a mint dip and a 'burn your face off' fiery option. After our generous main courses it was impossible to order any desert but we will definitely do so on our next visit.”
“What a cute little place. With snow on the ground the setting could not have been more picturesque. We shared the Warm Brussels Sprout Salad, a Pasta with Eggplant and the Salmon. All were very yummy. If I was to pick nits, the Salmon could have used a little more zing.”
“Had a surprise birthday gathering for a friend at Bora. We had drinks & appetizers which was great! From the time you stepped into the restaurant the ambience is alluring . The simple but great tasting menu was sleekly designed to have you try almost everything on the menu. The service was great from the bartender to the hostess that waited the tables. I definitely recommend the expresso martini & the blackberry spicy margarita. All of the appetizers were delicious from the calamari to the meatballs to the fried shrimp. The star of the show was the fried truffle rice ball. All of the sauces were also nicely paired & seasoned to perfection.”
“Love this restaurant. Their friendly service is something you do not see much of these days. They take tremendous pride in their food and the chef lives up to the task. Really fun dining experience. Don't forget to ask for the home made chili crisp spice! Great value for lunch. I go there and get take out 2-3 x per month.”
“Came in on a whim, I had initially been planning on eating dumplings tonight but the dumpling place was closed. I was blown away by the food, absolutely delicious and Srihari (the waiter) helped me pick an appetizer and entree that was perfect for me (I love spicy food but can't eat it as much as I used to because of stomach issues). The okra was very crispy, wonderfully spiced, and was just a tiny bit spicy. It was spicy enough to enhance the flavor but not so spicy that I'd start sweating. The tikka masala was also delicious. The sauce was very creamy and flavorful without being drowned in oil. The chicken was tender and really soaked in the flavor of the sauce. It was served with light, fluffy long grained rice. I also ordered a side of buttered naan, which was fantastic. The naan was lightly seasoned and generously buttered, making it the perfect accoutrement for the creamy masala. It added just the right bit of flavor and structure to the dish.In addition to the fantastic food, the wait staff was superb. As I mentioned, the waiter (Srihari) who took my order was extremely helpful. He helped me pick my entire order and was very attentive to my table during my whole meal even though the restaurant had a fair bit of diners in it, including a couple larger tables where he'd likely get better tips. He came by with exactly what I needed, when I needed it, from refills to to go boxes, without being overbearing. While I was eating, he'd generally leave me alone except to ask once how the food was. Then, right when I was done eating, he came by and offered to get boxes and the check. Absolutely perfect service! Srihari wasn't the only helpful staff member either, a waitress also came by my table several times. One time she was bussing another table and just happened to notice my water was low. She came by and refilled it without me saying anything even though I wasn't 'her' table. From start to end, I had a wonderful meal here and will definitely be coming back again! I would've attached more pictures, but the food was so good, I completely forgot about it until I was already done.”
“It was a pleasure to meet Terra Sole’s newest bartender, Cody. He was wonderfully personable and perfectly skilled at his craft - definitely an asset to the Terra Sole team. He made us some incredible cocktails! With bubbles! We always enjoy going in to chat with our friend Alejandro, but will now look forward to seeing Cody as well.”
“Ordered take out from here recently. What a gem! The butter chicken was well cooked and the sauce was beautifully balanced and complex. The garlic naan was lovely-crisp on the edges and seasoned perfectly.Indian cuisine is not well represented in CT and many places aim for the middle to get by. Jaipore is putting out great flavors and textures that are worth the spend.”
“place is good - and a nice family that owns it. it's a bit cluttered in there, and the food could be even better. I suggest that they cut the menu down a bit and focus on improving some of these dishes. yes it's good, just not great. Yet.”
“Very special white table cloth experience. Food great, staff very attentive yet not pushy. Atmosphere very nice where u can actually have a conversation and not have to be talking over everyone else. Will be back again.”
“What a pleasant surprise! After a search on Google Maps for a restaurant with vegan options, we made a detour from our road trip to the Catskills to stop at this Middle Eastern restaurant. My husband and I shared a VEGAN Mezza Special (12 plates) for two: Hommous, Baba Ghannouj, Tabbouli, Stuffed Grape Leaves, Falafel, Luby (Green Beans), Spinach Pies, Foul (Fava beans), Moujadara (lentils), Mousakaa, Fattouch (salad), Olives. We have dined in other Lebanese restaurants in the US and in the Middle East, and we both agree that the quality of the food in this restaurant surpasses them all. We were served by the owner Maha Hanna, who told us that her husband is the chef who created our delicious meal. We will most certainly be back whenever we are in the area!”
“I've tried both the chocolates and the ice cream, and both are absolutely delicious. When we heard they were out of peanut brittle, my friend was tearing up. That's how good it is. Plus the staff are really nice and helpful! And even the bathroom is clean, they really did a good job with this. I would definitely recommend this place!”
“Awesome that they are open for brunch/lunch as we have always been wowed by their food but used to only go for special occasion dinners. Everything we have tried on the menu has been delicious. The food is innovative and always amazing. And the atmosphere is fun, love their space. We always pop in to the British product shop next door after lunch to grab treats which is an added bonus.”
“Great beer, great atmosphere, great staff. Came in on a Saturday night and the bar tender went above and beyond, the live music was great and one of the lady’s came around with brownies, absolutely great”
“We have ordered here a few times for work events and it is always amazing. Walking in, you get a feel of a Bronx deli. There are a few tables inside or you can take it to go. This time I got a Chicken Parm Wedge. I’m pretty sure they get the bread from the Bronx because it doesn’t taste like the typical Connecticut bread. Really delicious sauce and chicken. Will continue to return here and suggest you stop in if you haven’t. Five stars!”
“Burgers n’ Bites is such a great spot! I cannot recommend this place enough. The owner, Anthony is extremely accommodating, fair and helpful. The staff is very friendly and the service was absolutely amazing. Willing to help with whatever you need for you and your guests. We have been both guests and the hosts of parties here in their private room and each time was a great experience. The food is delicious. The burgers, breaded chicken tenders, grilled chicken and onion rings are amazing. A large variety of choices on the menu. You cannot go wrong here with anything! Don’t forget to save room for dessert because the milkshakes are great too!!!”
“If you've had the food, you already know. If you haven't, you're missing out on the best halal in Danbury. It's fair-priced, delicious, and well-portioned. And ordering is super simple through the Clover app.”
“This is by far the best pizza place anywhere in Connecticut ANYWHERE. I have never had a pizza be this constantly good anywhere else in Connecticut which is surprising coming from a place so close to New York. The service is always great lovely people, and ambience feels as if I'm in a basement with friends eating home made pizza pie.”
“Great pizza! Proper NY style. The owner also treated us to some canolis, which were great. Haven't been here since lombardi's and I was not dissapointed!”
