We had heard good things about Acapulco so decided to try for lunch. We each had lunch rice bowls, chicken and steak. Fresh ingredients, very delicious! Our new favorite Mexican restaurant.

The prices have recently gone up very high. But the overall quality is the same. Items that were great have been removed and not replaced with anything as good. Portion size is much smaller now. I honestly can’t pay $30+ for so little food. The steak was dry and over cooked, with no seasoning. The rice is now plain white rice with little flavor. The side of beans came in a small dipping cup the same size as a shot glass. The only thing that got better with the changes was the guacamole. I honestly expected the quality or go up with the price hike. This just wasn’t worth over $30 at all and I don’t think I’ll be going back to sample more overpriced bland food.

Steak fajita had barely any steak. Quantity to price is not worth it. And quality of the steak wasn’t very good. It was overcooked and chewy. Also other may like this, but it wasn’t for me: There’s a bunch of broccoli in the fajitas? Empanadas were good. I would order them again. Chicken enchiladas Oaxaca were seasoned well but very dry. They needed more a lot mole to balance them out. Overall it was just ok. I don’t think I’ll try it again.

I ordered the Bistec El Diabla. The steak was so fatty, that half of it was impossible to chew (see attached pic of my chewed up & spit out fat). The chipotle sauce was tasty, so if they can cook a lean piece of meat, this dish will be good. I hope they improve.

We just had dinner at Acapulco GRILL and BAR in Ridgefield on Ethan Allen Highway!! Absolutely amazing!! The server brought over their nachos, complimentary as an appetizer, delicious!! We ordered the beef empanadas and the chicken empanadas, homemade and the quality was outstanding! Our entrees, enchiladas, an amazing chicken dish and chicken fajitas were flavorful and absolutely delicious! And the margaritas were outstanding!! So happy to find a hidden gem with high quality and delicious food in Ridgefield!!
