Lovely venue in Ridgefield, Ct. Quiet and reserved ambiance, lighting just perfect.Ordered all appetizers and was very pleased with the variation.Overall a favorable dinner.
Returned last night after a prolonged absence. The restaurant remains wonderful. We were two couples and each meal was outstanding. We were given a corner table which allowed us to talk freely. Service was excellent (thank you Amanda) as was the overall ambience. Truly fine dining. Highly recommended.
We ate in the beautifully appointed garden, with lights strung overhead. We shared the mushroom risotto, which had an intense flavor, the squash blossoms, & the perfectly prepared soft shell crabs. And the bread is flavorful, fresh & warm. Service was excellent.
Looking for a new French restaurant because our favorite French restaurant La Panatiere in Rye unfortunately went out of business.Upon arrival, we were promptly seated by the hostess. The restaurant is nicely decorated and at 5:30pm on a Saturday night, it is not quite busy yet. Warm bread was served and the cranberry one was good. We were given one piece and when we asked for another piece it never arrived. We even asked couple of times but we didn't get it anyway it's okay because we only reward excellent service. Now onto the food, French onion soup was good but lacking in cheese, grilled octopus was excellent, Soft shell crab was amazing as well as the short ribs. I love soufflé but they don't have it iso I didn't order any for dessert.Definitely we will come back if we are in the area.
One of the best restaurants Connecticut has to offer. The food is just incredible. The flavor is amazing. Alex our waiter new the menu completely to help us out. Thank you
One of my favorite French restaurants in Connecticut. It's definitely fancier than most restaurants I go to so make sure to dress up. The prices I felt were reasonable for a nice date night. The service is always great. The wait staff are always attentive. The lemon tart for dessert is really sour! Just a little heads up, I enjoyed it a lot but the tartness caught me by surprise. The duck dishes here are always amazing. It's definitely a drive for us but totally worth it.
We have hosted two family events at Bernard's - a wedding and a family birthday celebration. Both have been incredible. Hannah was excellent in working with us to plan the events. The food and service were beyond our expectations. The entire staff went out of their way to make each of our events truly special. Everyone who attended we very impressed with the food and staff. Great memories for all.
Impeccable fine dining and service with an extensive, delicious and authentic French inspired menu. All served in a beautiful and comfortable atmosphere with wonderful decor. A very competent wine list at all price points. Certainly a restaurant for that special occasion!
Food was excellent and creative. Setting was warm and romantic
We recently had our rehearsal dinner at Bernard's and we couldn't have been more pleased! The food was delicious (particularly the passed hors d'oeuvres and the dessert) and a huge hit with our guests! Many people mentioned that it was the best (and fanciest) rehearsal dinner they've been to. The staff was super accommodating and making sure we had enough time between courses to go over wedding details and pass our gifts.

Great food, service & atmosphere. Perfect for a special dinner.
Great French food with live musicFood is not too sophisticated but well done. The sweetbreads and the goose liver are amazing
Exceptional menu, wonderful ambiance and fabulous staff. Fireplace is delightful in the winter and the outdoor garden seating is perfect for summer. I only wish it were closer so I could enjoy it more!
Expensive, excellent service, interesting and delicious food choices. Highly recommend the pumpkinseed cod, sweetbreads, and the cheese fondue. The lobster bisque was disappointing. The creme brulee was excellent as was the lemon pannacotta.
I made a reservation two days ago for my elderly parents and I. We were looking forward to this luncheon. Walked in and a hostess immediately told me to where to go for the "party", I told them I made reservations at 1 - they refused the reservations because of the "party". This is a far ride for NO REASON from Stratford to Ridgefield. I went to get my car in the back parking lot and I heard another co-worker (a man) talking trash about us to another co-worker! When we had RESERVATIONS in the first place! Terribly rude. They should have at least called us to cancel at a minimum. We ended up going to a nice restaurant The Barn Door and had a pleasant meal.
