Owner is super nice. Ice cream was absolutely amazing. Beautiful store. Options for everyone. Even plant based, low fat, and non diary. Very happy we checked it out. ?
Been here a dozen times and grubhubbed 10 or so. Next to Ferris in Newtown, this is the best Ice Cream around. Service and ice cream are always amazing.
I feel so bad for this place and the family that owns it because it’s a very good product but they are right next to Deborah Ann’s Sweet Shop which moved to this new location and has a very loyal local following. This place has no decor inside and only a couple tables. There are only 2 tables outside. Meanwhile Deborah Ann’s in like a nightclub in comparison with a high-end interior and just an all around better build-out. Their patio was packed! It’s just unfortunate because Gopher ice cream is very good but I will be surprised if they are around in a year.
This is a great ice cream place! The service is excellent, the ice cream is delicious. They have an incredible variety of flavors as well as a huge selection of non dairy options. We can't wait to go back.

Gopher has an exceptional line of plant based products. Both soft and hard serve products. And the most special part is the lack of ice crystals on these flavors. Its exceptional. The most important thing to know is if getting a cone you need to request to plastic packaging. Its garbage that undermines the entire cone itself. A cone should not have packaging.
What can I say about GOFER Ice Cream? From the tiny proportions to the odd smells that emanate from the back room, this place is a mystery. A riddle, wrapped in an enigma, perhaps. Why would you try to open an ice cream restaurant next to Ridgefield's finest, Deborah Anne's? This was a losing battle from the get-go. One time, I saw an employee pulled out what I believed to be a severed human foot. Maybe it was just one of their ice cream cakes. That would explain the brown residue seeping into the tiled floors. Don't even get me started on that manager guy. I was complaining to the manager because I watched one of the employees clip a toenail into my GOFER Razzle, and I could smell his breath from across the counter. It instantly hit the back of my throat, and I gagged, so I had to go use the restroom to compose myself, where I dry-heaved over the toilet for a good 5 minutes. Not to mention the tapeworm floating in the toilet bowl (not from me btw). wHEN I LEFT THE RESTROOM, ERIC OFFERED TO BUY ME DINNER AND THEN "MAKE IT UP TO ME". wHATEVER THAT MEANS. ANYWAYS, WIL NOT BE COMING BACK. sOLIDARITY.
I was thrilled with the awesome birthday cake I ordered for my son's 4th birthday. We started with just an idea and Eric asked the right questions and provided an awesome spec before he made the cake. It was beyond my expectations, DELICIOUS, and my son LOVED IT. THANK YOU again for your attention to detail and creating such a delicious cake for his birthday!
