Tablao Wine Bar & Restaurant

Appetizers + entrees are expensive. Not necessarily a bad thing. But high prices SHOULD NECESSARY mean high quality service. That was not the case here. Wait staff were tolerable to deal with, but nothing more. We had a reservation for three. We arrived on time + after 30 minutes or so we had to flag a waiter.

Our waters were already on the table upon our being seated. Other tables had been given bread immediately; we had to request it. There was only enough for two of us. I asked for a cup of coffee + was given a latte instead. At that point I no longer cared; I just wanted a beverage.

After another 15 minutes I hunted our waiter. He asked if we were ready to order. At this point I began to wonder if he knew that he was to be waiting ON us rather than our waiting FOR him. He took our order + we received our food accurately + quickly. Frankly, while my companions each ordered two appetizers as their meals, I ordered an official entree. I was quite disappointed to discover that the size of my halibut entree ($32) was the same size as their appetizers ($16). We asked twice more for bread, which we never got. My entree came with nothing else - no soup, no side salad.

I know you'll be surprised to hear that our waiter NEVER CAME TO CHECK ON US. Never asked if we needed anything else. Never asked to see how our food was. Never asked if we wanted beverage refills. Never thanked us for coming. Not to worry, this particular location has a new restaurant every 5 - 8 years. Perhaps their time is almost up.

And, yes, for the record - we still left a generous tip.

First time... Excellent food and service. Tapas is a good idea for appetizers. I don't think I would order a bunch of appetizers as a meal. My veal shank was excellent. Not traditional risotto- cheesy but excellent.

Wonderful food—really delicious. Super nice servers, attractive room. My only complaint is that we were there in the late afternoon, and there were only 2 other tables, but at one of them, there were some very loud, kvetching ladies. The servers told us to pick whatever table we wanted, and we sat far away from them, but the acoustics were such that we learned all about how this one wasn't going to go all the way down to Brooklyn anymore if her daughter-in-law was going to act like that, and that one should just get the groom's mother to figure out the flowers... If I owned that restaurant, I would put sound absorption on the ceiling and drape all the windows with heavy velvet. But for some reason, it seems like some people like their restaurants loud. That's my reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

Great experience before a show at Ridgefield Playhouse. Service was attentive (thanks, Carlos!) and accommodating to allergies. We liked our high top table in the bar area. Tapas and Caesar salad were all delicious and exactly as ordered. Drinks were perfectly cold. We will back when in the area again!

Lovely anniversary dinner at Tablao in Ridgefield. One of the reasons we picked it was the number of gluten free choices for my celiac wife. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable about GF choices. The food was excellent and the half off special on bottles of wine was an added bonus. We look forward to returning soon.

Tablao is consistently great for tapas, and the staff is also attentive. The paella was the clear winner this evening, along with the Eggplant Tablao and scallops.

We had a late lunch of tapas and every single bite was delicious!! The service was impeccable and the restaurant has the relaxed atmosphere you'd expect of a wine bar in Ridgefield. We will be back!!

We enjoy the food so we purchased a $100 gift card for a relative. When the relative went to use the card he was told there was nothing on it. This was both embarassing for them and us! We went to restaurant with our credit card receipt. They eventually figured out that there was a mistake since they changed gift card service. They told us to bring gift card in and they would put $200 on it. We were happy with this response but when we bought it in they refused to honor the $200 and only put $100.

Tuesday is definitely a great night to stop in for dinner here. With $10 tapas and $10 margaritas, there is a plethora of deliciousness to choose from. We stopped in pretty late and there was still a rather lively scene both at the bar and tables. Service was somewhat slow, but the staff were all knowledgeable and friendly. We ended up with 6 tapas and a couple beverages and the bill was under$100 - yes please.

All the right stuff-central Main Street location a few minutes drive to the Playhouse,nice inner space, knowledgeable and attentive waiter, very good food including octopus.

Awesome food here and a nice atmosphere. Service is good and prices aren't bad. It's now our go-to place in Ridgefield be fore a show at the Ridgefield Playhouse

We sat at the bar for diner. Bartender was pleasant and gave great service. Food was delicious.
