If you’re in Ridgefield, Connecticut, and craving authentic Spanish cuisine, look no further than this charming tapas restaurant. Our recent visit was a delightful experience that left us eager to return.
The lunch special is a fantastic deal, allowing you to choose one salad and one tapas. I opted for the Brussel Sprouts Salad, which was creatively prepared and bursting with flavor—it was truly out of this world. For my tapas, I chose the Gambas à la Plancha (grilled shrimp), and they did not disappoint; the shrimp were perfectly cooked and seasoned.
My husband also enjoyed the lunch special, selecting the Pear Salad alongside the beef and chicken empanadas. He raved about the empanadas, praising their flaky crust and savory filling.
Our server, Jesus, was a standout. He was professional, knowledgeable, and offered excellent recommendations, enhancing our dining experience.
Overall, this tapas restaurant is a hidden gem. Don’t miss this place—it’s a true delight!

Excellent food, superb service. Ordered a bunch of tapas to experience different flavors. Crabcakes, hangar steak, meatballs and eggplant and topped off with the linguine piccata. Excellent!!!

Awful food and limited menu with no vegetarian or vegan options. My so called steak cooked medium rare was like cutting into cardboard and flavorless. Expensive and small portioned. Appetizers were toddler sized and also outrageous in price and terrible.Ordered a steak with a mysterious sauce. Asked for A1 sauce and they couldn't provide. Save your money, never again. McDonald's has better menu and better prices. Yuck
Great food. Great service. Welcoming atmosphere. Missed Happy Hour, but didn’t matter.

Had a lunch (prix fixe) menu and unfortunately was very disappointed with the food. Red snapper terribly overcooked and tough. Signature burger that is not up to any standard whether from a broiler or flat grill. Medium needs to be pink – it was grey and flavorless. The tapas also lacked character. Grilled octopus was boiled and lacked the essential elements of searing, smoked paprika and sea salt flakes. Tablao serves food lacking cultural authenticity or imagination. If you haven't experienced true cuisine from Spain or regional Mediterranean then it may not make as much of a difference to you. But, If you know true Spanish or Mediterranean cuisine then you should look elsewhere. This establishment will disappoint.

I'm surprised to see so many positive reviews of Tablao; it makes me think we must have visited a different restaurant, or perhaps the chef just really had an off-day? I visited as one of a party of five for lunch. It was very quiet with few other tables occupied (rarely a good sign). Service was good and friendly and the dining room is fine; I can imagine on a busy evening the ambience may be quite good. But the food leaves a lot to be desired, and it wasn't cheap either. The paella, normally one of my favorite dishes at restaurants offering mediterranean cuisines, was particularly disappointing. (I you want great paella try the Paella Valenciana at nearby Tequila Escape.) Perhaps the chef was just off, but it will require a lot to ever tempt me back again.
