Food was very good. Left hungry. Expensive for what you get. Good Margaritas. Place was half empty. Took forever to get a second drink and an additional side order.

We have eaten here many times but lately the portions are getting much smaller and the prices are rising. I got the chicken fajitas and the chicken was literally a thin chicken cutlet cut into about 10 strips - underneath the chicken was way too many sautéed onions, 4 pepper strips and a lot of squash. Drinks are decent but the food is not as good as it used to be. The Chips and salsa are excellent which is a plus.

I ordered the steak fajitas. They were the worst fajitas I have ever had in my entire life. The vegetables were burnt and the steak, which should have been flank steak (That’s what I use when I make steak fajitas) was skirt steak, and it was very tough to eat. There was no marinade on either the vegetables or the steak so it was really bland and had no flavor. Normally fajitas are served with shredded cheese, but there was no cheese either. I really should’ve sent this dish back because the vegetables were inedible as they were burnt. I’ve eaten here before and been quite pleased with the food, but this dish was really unacceptable. How hard is it to make decent fajitas, especially when you’re charging $37 for them. I’m not sure I would come back again.

It was our first time coming! It was our anniversary and this restaurant was the perfect spot for an anniversary dinner! The service from the moment you walk in for friendly, professional, and welcoming. We went on Thursday night, with a 7 pm reservation, and was seated right way. I can not remember our waitresses name, but she had glasses and a ponytail. She did say it, but I can't recall. She was great! She explained everything on the menu and was very helpful! The food was amazing. We were brought our food and drinks by various waiters and all were friendly! This is one of our daughter's favorite restaurants and we are glad she recommended it. We will be back!! Kudos Tequila Escape for offering fine dining in this area!

Went for cocktails and they were a complete rip off, received barely any alcohol and paid way too much for them...a martini served in a glass and charged $16 + extra $2 for it, I guess the olives??..see photo

Sadly the food was just mediocre. We didn't pay as close attention to prior reviews and so maybe would have stayed away. We liked the waiter a lot, but that they served more than a day old guacamole which was brownish was disappointing. Celebrating a friend's BD pushed us off of bringing it to his attention, which was silly. The sauce on the fish taco was overkill and the mushroom tacos were not filled to the brim. The steak sandwich was excellent tho. And the sangria had very little alcohol for a small glass with a lot of ice, it was $10. Not sure we would return. TBD

Tequila Escape offers a beautiful ambiance with tasteful décor that strikes the perfect balance between modern chic and relaxed charm. The lighting is flattering, the music is at just the right volume, and the overall vibe is polished without trying too hard — a rare thing these days.

The food itself is quite good — elevated, well-prepared, and thoughtfully plated. However, the pricing feels less tied to culinary excellence and more reflective of its coordinates on a map. Let’s just say the location plays a significant role in the final bill.

Portions are not small, not big, but fall just short of satisfying — you’ll likely need an appetizer if you want to leave feeling full. Still, what’s there is enjoyable and made with care.

The service, though, is what stood out most. The owner and host were genuinely pleasant, and my waiter was exceptional — a tall, fit gentleman in his 50s or 60s, white hair, and the calm, precise professionalism of a butler. I should’ve taken note of his name; service at that level is rare.

This is Ridgefield, after all — a town where appearances matter, and the locals often confuse expensive with exquisite. In that context, Tequila Escape fits right in: not overpriced for the flavor, but perfectly priced for those who enjoy paying a little more just to say they did.

Just don’t be surprised if your margarita comes with a splash of sophistication… and a room full of people silently competing to out-fancy each other.

Decent food, but small portions for the money. Service was slow and waiter never returned to ask if I needed more coffee. Would I return? Probably not. Nor would our friends who ate with us.
