I had a fantastic meal at The Lantern in Ridgefield, Connecticut, with my mother and stepfather. We were in a bit of a rush to get to a show, but the experience was seamless from start to finish. I opted for the Cubano with fries, which was absolutely delicious. My mother had the chicken Caesar, and my stepfather enjoyed the fish and chips along with a pint of pilsner and a glass of Dewar’s—everything was hot, fresh, and full of flavor.

What really stood out was the exceptional service. The staff was friendly, efficient, and made sure our food came out quickly, which was a big help with our tight schedule. We also appreciated the convenience of the QR code payment system, making checkout smooth and hassle-free.

All in all, it was a great dining experience with fantastic food and top-notch service. I highly recommend The Lantern for anyone looking for a great meal in Ridgefield!

Wheelchair accessibility: The Lantern is wheelchair accessible, with a street-level entrance that makes it easy to get inside. The space features wide aisles and pedestal tables, providing plenty of room for maneuverability. It’s a great option for those who need accessible seating without compromising comfort or convenience.

TERRIBLE. Would not recommend. Went to the bar with some of my friends and the owner threatened to kick me out of the bar if I didn’t buy a drink… I was the DD and am 2 years sober. Way to go forcing an addict to drink or leave!

Sweet place and the salmon sandwich and spinach in red pepper sauce was delicious. Very pleased with our dinner here and the young waitress made us feel welcomed.

Ate at the bar last night before a show at Ridgefield Playhouse (Walking distance, FYI)
Had the fried calamari as an appetizer and it was great, a mix of rings and tentacles perfectly cooked. Dipping aioli yummy. Had a trio of tacos, tried one of each of the fish selections. Tuna taco five stars, Or splendid with tuna that was tender and tasted wonderful. Disappointed in the blackened shrimp taco, minimal flavor, and only one shrimp. Basa yaco was pretty darn good.

Easily the rudest, and probably the worst, bartender in the area. fairly decent fish and chips here though.

Why Not

Came in for a quick bite with my sister. Bougie Burger was delicious and quick. Our server Jessica was delightful and attentive. She went over the drinks with us and was very knowledgeable. Great option for food right on main street. Will be back!

Amazing atmosphere. Sitting outside enjoying the town while tasting some good food is one of the perks you get here.
Food is really good. Classic American cuisine.
They do have some buns but for me they are actually tiny burgers (they were tasty though).
The place gets really busy so try to get there earlier.

Nice place to relax and enjoy good food. The menu is extensive with salads, burgers, tacos, and pizza. The service is very good and the staff is very friendly. Avoid the pizza - their version of a Margherita pizza is a flat slab covered with tomato sauce and an over abundance of mozzarella cheese - not a Margherita!

Met up with some old high school girlfriends and had a lovely lunch. The staff was so great they let us sit for a few hours and catch up. The food was very good I had the smoked salmon sandwich. The bread was delicious. Salad was nice and fresh. Also the town of Ridgefield is beautiful.

The Lantern in Ridgefield is one of our regular go-to places. Food and drink selections are excellent, and prices are reasonable. Service is attentive and very friendly. During the summer months a table outdoors on Main Street is perfect for people (and dog) watching. A great place.
