Hands down the worst steak house around, the chef cannot comprehend the difference between medium and medium rare, nor the concept of salt and pepper. Save your money and go literally anywhere else

Very good, very affordable, reservation definitely needed but it's a estimate. you will still wait about 15+ min on a busy night. Will return immediately

Food was pretty good, just really expensive! & to be honest, for me, food doesn't taste better the more that it costs. I ordered a margarita & it was aweful. Had hanger steak (cheapest on menu) it was cooked very good (better than what i can cook)! Waitstaff is exceptional with everything, well organized. Just too expensive for me (glad I didn't pay!)

I've had good meals here before, but this time was very "meh." The house made ricotta was delicious but came with only 4 little toast points and there was no bread basket so we ate half the ricotta by licking it off the spoon. Hanger steak was cooked properly rare but had a lot of connective tissue. I got an addon crab cake; I expected it like the app, with at least some aioli, but it was just a dry cake slapped on the plate. My fellow diner got shrimp scampi (it was not on the menu as an entree but as a "steakhouse addon" and they said they could make an entree). Could see immediately the shrimp were tightly curled and as expected they were overdone and chewy. I mean it wasn't a terrible meal, but not what I expected at this price, from Carbone's Prime.

I love coming here for dinner with my wife or with our family. I enjoy the atmosphere and food. It has become one of our top-5 local date-night restaurants.

I recently visited Carbone’s Prime and was really looking forward to a nice meal, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing due to the behavior of the manager, Colby. He came across as rude and seemed to lack respect not only for customers but also for his own staff, which made for an uncomfortable atmosphere. I believe the restaurant has potential, as the food and service from the rest of the team were good, but management’s attitude left a bad impression. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously to create a more welcoming environment for both guests and employees.

We had a reservation and were ignored. Maybe because we are minorities? Finally we got addressed service was ok. Plenty of park and safe surrounding which is a plus. Food was good, try the NYSteak. A bit pricey but affordable.

I am a lover of the original Carbones in Hartford, it was always a pleasure to dine out there. I have been to the new Carbones on Cromwell Avenue once before for happy hour and was pleased with the service and the food. The atmosphere is fantastic. I absolutely recommended it to friends and family and planned on returning. Unfortunately returning was a huge disappointment. When I go out to eat it usually consists of a smorgasbord of appetizers in place of entrees. I you can get a better sense of how the food is through the appetizers. We had the fried calamari as one of our appetizers. How in world can you get fried calamari that isn’t tasty. Yuck! Maybe can I say burnt! My clams on the half shell were good, thank goodness. We also had a salad that was blah. The only thing that was good was the free ricotta and bread that they gave us before we ordered. This gave us high hopes for the rest of it. And as good as MAC and cheese with short ribs sounds, I can assure you that it was very disappointing. The best part was when we paid our tab to Semar S, I told her all this. She asked how everything was and I said sadly thumbs down….she said “hun” like that is interesting….
I always suggest that people should still go to try it. Form your own opinion.

We had dinner the other night. I had the NY Strip, and my wife gas the filet. The atmosphere is really nice. The steaks were cooked to perfection. My only knock is that I asked for the steak to be seared on one side with crushed black peppercorns, and it arrived without them and with no explanation.
No worries.
The mash potatoes were good, and the mushrooms were excellent. We both finished our plates.
I'm definitely going back.
