Ordered soup and it was disgusting, no flavor. The rice was soggy. The food used to be good when it first opened up. Better of going to Hartford.

I got the jerk pork sandwich and my wife got the jerk chicken dinner. It wasn't cheap but it was delicious and large portions.
We recommend it. I took off one star for atmosphere because the gospel preaching in the background was kind of annoying.

They take care of you here. I went in asking about every dish. They explained the different sauces, the different curries. The whole staff is kind. The dining room is L shaped and easy enough to find a quiet table away. Portions are generous and everything is just right in terms of spice. I was recommended Oxtail and several regulars came in for oxtail after me. 18 bucks for medium, and it's a good sized meal or enough for two lunches maybe. good Jamaican music. cashier was kind. cute kids hanging out in the dining room coloring. family atmosphere.

This hit the spot! Very very good stew chicken / cabbage and rice/beans!
The chicken was fall off the bone delicious!
This was a lot of food for medium size dish too! Thank you! Cool little store with Jamaican music playing and cool posters up. If I was a local I'd be here all the time !!

Driving down from Massachusetts to Stamford Connecticut needed a place to stop and get some food. You get all the common cultures of food but this small little Jamaican spot was perfect. The restaurant is clean and the bathroom was clean as well. The staff was very pleasant. The food was delicious. I would recommend the oxtails with rice and beans and cabbage. Match it up with a jamaican kola champagne soda. Shout out to the young lady in the front today!!! Everyone gotta try this little spot. Its perfect.

Started eating at the Vernon location, once I moved to Rocky Hill I saw MJ was opening a Rocky Hill location.
Jerk chicken sandwich on coco bread is amazing.
Jerk wings are the best I’ve had; including Negril, Montego Bay, and Ocho Rios. It’s awesome to get foot ball style wings cooked jerk style.

Jerk chicken sandwich is banging. Spicy beef patties are decent. Stews always delicious.

Take out order on 9/13/25 , food was mediocre hate to say. Ordered a large Oxtail meal…& I guess the large means large portions of bland rice that compacted the plate. Not forgetting to mention the poor amount of oxtails that was given. Poor pricing, portions & no cabbage…a let down, hopefully the owner can bounce back & prove the recent reviews wrong.

I have a bad habit of telling the truth. The food portions were laughably small and food was massively overpriced. The food was some of the most bland and nastiest Jamaican food I have ever had. If you’re looking for good Jamaican food this is not the place just keep looking. Waste of time and money.
