This place is very closed! Showed up today with some colleagues from work hoping for taco Tuesday, but it looks like the property has been abandoned for sometime

Never got to try it. It's apparently permanently closed with nothing at the restaurant indicating that. So disappointing.

The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. The house margaritas were a little too sweet, but reasonably priced. I tried the pulled pork, fish, and steak tacos for taco Tuesday. They were all amazing!

Bar Baja in Rocky Hill was a great stop for lunch on a Friday afternoon. Interior is clean and inviting. Service and staff were friendly. Asada tacos meat was a little dry but tasted good. Chorizo taco hit the spot. Al Pastor taco was by far the best of the 3. Only downside is the tacos themselves are pretty small, 2 bite tacos. But they taste really good.

Wednesday night, 7:30 PM... a few other customers. Waiter (Rob) was very good.. even unlocked the side door for us. Very good food - Bang Bang Shrimp taco for me - the shrimp was almost too big for the taco! The sauce/flavors were excellent. Happy hour nachos were just the right size for the two of us (and tasty). Margarita was very well done. We will be going back.

Good food prices are not too bad. The bar tender makes one hell of a Margarita. 5 stars on the drink and service. I recommend.
I was looking forward to trying this place out before they were officially open for business. I recently stopped by for dinner with my husband and friends on a Friday night. Upon arrival, the setup and atmosphere was inviting and seemed like a fun place to be. The menu had a good amount of options to pick from, and I ended up starting off with the Loaded Yucca Fries to share with my husband. For my dinner, I ordered the Southwest Chicken Tacos, without the roasted peppers. Unfortunately, the tacos weren't a hit for me - I think the chili was what ruined it. I also requested soft tacos (my sister did too for her fish tacos) and our waitress told us they didn't have any. Typically I wouldn't have been annoyed, but it would have been more believable if she told us before our food came out, and if everyone at my table had hard shells only - this was not the case though since my friend clearly had soft tortillas with her meal. I have to point out too that our waitress neglected our table throughout our dinner and literally took 20 minutes to just bring us napkins. Overall, I wouldn't consider the food authentic, but it's worth stopping by for the extensive bar at least.

I really like this place. This weekend was my third trip to bar Baja. Our server was lovely, attentive, and made great conversation. The place has an overall cool vibe.... Although they kept messing with the lighting throughout our dinner service. I love the food here. I got a burrito and it was great. I've also had the birria tacos and the southwest salad. It's never overly cheesy or greasy (sans the birria tacos, but that's why you get them! ) as many of these places can be. Fresh and flavorful food! The only reason for 4 stars is that my margarita was just "ok".

Fried cauliflower tacos are amazingly delicious!

The birria tacos were fantastic - saucy, tender, crispy cheese and tortillas. Beans and rice were awesome. Chips were plentiful, salsa was good, queso was okay. Regular margarita was much too sweet, and the mix tasted like gatorade.

Don't sleep on Bar Baja. The first time I went it was just okay, but have gone back a few more times and it has consistently been fantastic. They have great vegetarian options with impossible meat, or their veggie burrito by itself is really good too. They will accommodate orders too. My boyfriend asked if they could do a short rib burrito, and they did it. Great drinks too! Wayyy better than any Mexican restaurant I've been too, and way better than Chipotle and only a few dollars more.
