This is a nice little Deli/ Country Store. It clearly is popular by the crowd waiting for service.
I ordered a breakfast sandwich which was made fresh while I waited. Staff were polite and helpful. I give four solid stars !!!

Welcome to the worst deli in Newtown/Sandy Hook.

Misty vale at one time was a great place to get an affordable, good, lunch or breakfast. They had a manager that was there for many years who apparently held it all together. Now, they rely soley on their past reputation to stay afloat.

The food has gone downhill, and the service is horrendous.

3/4 of the time you will get the wrong order, and when they do get the order correct it is so poorly made that you wonder how any of the cooks have even made a living with food. For example if you get a bacon egg and cheese you run an 80% chance the cheese will be ice cold and not melted in the least.

On top of the food decline, ever since covid they prioritize calls and online orders over the people that are in the store. Many many times I have been in line and the cashier will answer the phone multiple times to put in phone orders while I have been waiting in person to order.

There are many other great places in town that people don't go to just cause they are used to going to misty vale for years. Please do yourself a favor and try some other breakfast places in the area and get a sense of how food is supposed to be prepared, and how your service is supposed to be.

As a Project Manager for Manny Roofing in Torrington, CT, I'm always on the lookout for quick, reliable spots when we’re out on the job, and Misty Hill Deli certainly didn’t disappoint! Our team was in Sandy Hook working on a customer’s roof, and we were all getting pretty hungry. On my way to check in on the job, I spotted the deli and decided to grab lunch for the crew.

I placed a large order—12 sandwiches with sides—and the staff at Misty Hill Deli didn’t hesitate for a second. They jumped right on it, got our order together, and had everything ready in no time. The quality of the sandwiches was outstanding, and the team loved everything from the meat to the sides. They made sure our order was a priority and delivered fast, which was a big win for us with a busy workday ahead.

I highly recommend Misty Hill Deli for any business, especially if you need to feed a hungry team quickly. The food was fantastic, the service was spot-on, and we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area. Great sandwiches, great food, and fantastic service!

The food is fine, the menu is huge and you can customize your order. The staff work hard and if there is a little bit of a wait it’s because this place is the best value anywhere.
