We enjoyed our visit today. The house special biryani, chicken tikka and assorted naan were all delicious! Our server was so attentive and friendly. Will definitely be returning.

Tried for the first time but had a very bad experience. Poor customer service. The boy who is serving doesn't even know how to greet and how to receive. He doesn't know about all the items, though. Ordered biryani, and that is also not at all good taste. I am very disappointed and never visit again

I went to Baingan for a lunch buffet on Sunday. It wasn't
crowded, with only three tables occupied by guests. The food was okay, but the service was quite poor. The naan was served at the table, but the first time it arrived was after a 5–10-minute wait. None of the staff there checked on us or asked if we needed anything. I had to go looking for them everytime. The team working there seemed busy chatting in a group and never bothered about the guests. We ordered mango lassi, which was too sweet and only consisted of mango pulp and sugar. When we told the staff it wasn't good, they said sorry and left, never bothering to replace the drink. The experience was not good at all, and I would never recommend this place to anyone

Went to this restaurant and it was empty at the time I went there but its really a shame because its very nice inside and they got outdoor seatting under a tent I had there food it was very good and I got alote of food for the price I paid infact I had enuff food to take home very well worth the price I paid for both me and my girlfriend and the service was excellent and I told them that I don't like very spicy food and I was told they have different levels of spice and I chose mild and they cooked my food very well so the treatment I received was very excellent and they also have open buffet on certain days so im happy I went and I highly recommend this place and most definitely will go there again so go check them out. It's good to help support a local restaurant with good food and excellent atmosphere and service very well worth the time to go there. And don't be nervous if you see the place empty if you go there because In my eyes I see it as a garente that you'll get a good seat and as I said the food and service is excellent. 5 stars and 2 thumbs ? up from me for shure. Awesome place

Great food. The best is to come during the buffet, but the river view they got in the back makes any day worth it. The Mango smoothie they have is one of a kind. It's nice to try the Indian beers - authentic ?

An enchanting Northern Indian style restaurant nestled in the hills of Shelton, Ct. A pure delight for everyone.
There are many Indian restaurants to choose from but VALUE is the major difference why one should choose BAINGAN!
Delectable dishes, atmosphere, service, quality and presentation.
Upon crossing the threshold at the front entrance one feels as though they're entering someone's home.
Cozy atmosphere of wood, huge glass windows and vibrant colors that ignite your senses to prepare one for a totally unique gastronomic experience.
Baingan, at the buffet, offers the top favorite dishes which satisfies all. Perfectly seasoned, not overwhelmingly spicy as Northern Indian is suppose to be.
Fried onions, Basmati rice, Chicken Tika Masala(of course!), vegetables seasoned mildly, Chicken fried rice, Tandoori chicken, and other chicken dishes packed with flavor and cooked to perfection plus Indian salad and all the traditional chutneys, spicy peppers etc. lentil soup & masala tea included in the price which you never see often.
The Baingan restaurant menu is an extensive menu offering many dishes that, I for one, have never tried or ever heard of and I've been a fan of Indian cuisine for 40+ years.
As a frequent customer I feel part of the Baingan Family. A Beautiful staff that will kill you with kindness from beginning to end. The hospitality is overthetop. Each employee in the beautifully decorated dinning room is to whom I owe my THANKS. This includes, Varshita, Nishitha, Ashwini, Veea, and Kaithik. OUTSTANDING SERVICE! Knowledgeable, attentive, focused and of course beautiful as most Indian folk are, inside and out!
Namaste.?

Tried this place for the first time tonight, as I am new to the area. DELICIOUS!! Kept it “simple” with Chicken Korma and garlic naan. Flavor is amazing, the meal really hit the spot. I just stopped in for a takeout order, but I hope to return soon to dine in! The restaurant is beautiful inside and they have a patio area as well. There was a live band playing tonight! If it was more than just myself for dinner tonight I would have loved to dine in and enjoy the atmosphere!! Give this place a try!

I went to this place on Memorial Day weekend, when I entered surprisingly there are no customers in big seating restaurant. I want to sit back side open area with river side view. This place is really highlight for this restaurant, Unfortunately that is the only thing I liked in this restaurant. The food I ordered is butter chicken and garlic roti, mango lassi. Chicken is quoted with red color and it’s hard chew. Garlic rotis are good. I don’t know why it’s really hard to drink lassi. I left most of the stuff on table, didn’t feel to take it in box. Overall thumbs down ?

Damn good lamb dishes, meat perfectly cooked and tender. So many good breads, the aloo naan was particularly good.

We sat on the patio and it has a great view of the river, a bit of a hidden gem.
