Update: I risked ordering again and the tinga was back to its normal quality which is very high. 4 stars instead of 5 due to inconsistency.
This has been my favorite Mexican in Shelton for years and I ordered the tinga tacos and tortas probably 100 times. The last time I ordered the quality and flavor of the tinga was awful, completely different than I'm used to. Unseasoned, dry, chewy, basically inedible. I really hope this was an aberration but it will be hard to risk ordering again unless I hear an explanation. It wasn't just overcooked or an off day, it was a completely different recipe and quality of ingredients.

OVERLY PRICED FOOD!!!! Spent $65 for an order of 12 tacos. The tacos were average tasting and barely had any meat - spent $65 to basically eat just tortillas. Complete rip off. This place is robbing people for their money. Don’t bother wasting your time.

Classic Authentic Mexican family restaurant. Good portions, fresh ingredients, well-seasoned. Very attentive staff, tables inside. Big take-out business, only drawback is inadequate parking downtown. Worth a little walk to get here.
Hands down favorite mexican spit around and the prices are unbeatable. Can easily feed our family of 4 for under $50

Food looked beautiful. I ordered bierra tacos. That’s as far as it goes for my food tho. Taste was bland. The consume was literally brown water with onions and meat in it. Tacos were meat and cheese and no flavor. It was our first time here and was excited from the reviews but, so disappointing. Staff was friendly and the food looks like the pictures but it taste like nothing.

Birria tacos were loaded up with tons of steak with even more served up in the consommé. Overall a really delicious, generous portion served up by friendly staff.
This was my first time there, but I’m told by my friend, who is a semi-regular, that so far he has gotten this same quality every time.
